Birthday present for @jakksnacc.bsky.social ! Desmond demands you to give all your treats to Jakk, lest you suffer a trick most foul. He's wearing a costume. It counts.

A suburb at night. A very very fat pig laying on his side with a bent (poorly made) cardboard fin taped to his back. He looks a little worried. In the foreground, a fat squirrel with a glowing demonic candy bucket talks to the camera. He has glowing red eyes. The scene is lit by the open door, showing a shadowy silhouette of a furry figure.

Been doing a lot of really rough concept art that takes five minutes to do but I am pretty pleased with how I drew this griffin head.

Saw an AI profile picture with the disclaimer that "it's a placeholder until I get real art" and I thought "Man you could do a quick photoshop and it wouldn't even take that long" so I recreated it in about five minutes without the mammon machine.

Paper Mario shadows! The palette is wrong but the tech is there.

Now sprites can be affected by a walkbehind mask!

Test for translucent sprites (there's no LUT yet, so it's garbage). I'm going to up the system requirements on my engine from 25Mhz to 33 or 66, depending on what I can get in my machine, because I want fancy effects.

Spent some time speeding up the blitting code. I know it isn't too exciting. But look: five badgers on screen at once!

And now you can blit a background in and draw it at any point along its width. This is actually looking like a game now!

Art Nouveau portrait of Erin the Hedgehog. I was feeling down on my art so I decided to push myself to do something new. #khato_art

An art nouveau style portrait of Erin Starcaller, a short fat hedgehog with red facepaint in the shape of a star, and a flowing revealing golden loincloth. He poses in front of a wheel with a star and a tree in circles in each sub-circle. In the center there is a starry sky. He is wearing gold jewelry with a star motif in red gems. He has sky blue eyes, and is missing his four front top incisors.

Okay, can someone explain to me why brands sell fancy dress outfits and put logos on them instead of keeping them accurate. Like even if you want a shirt like what a character wears they often have logos on them. I've always found it rather gauche.

The 1980s Alvin and the Chipmunks theme has the line "Coming on stronger than ever before" which always confused me, like, why would they admit that, that's a little weird. But then I looked up the definition and:

come on strong
phrase

UK
to behave towards another person in a way that is too severe, or that shows a strong sexual interest that the other person does not want:

US
to make an extra effort in order to be successful or to have control in a situation:

I am particular about belly buttons. The more outie/detailed they are, the less I am drawn to them. Sometimes, all you need is two lines.
