There was a bad smell in the garden yesterday and I was about to blame the bins but then I realised this Arum pictum had started flowering. The flies were loving it #arum #aroids #GardensHour #plantsky #gardensky

This Aeonium had self-seeded into one of our other succulent plants so we dug it up this week. I thought it was an Aeonium spathulatum, but now I'm wondering if it's a hybrid with another species. #aeonium #succulents #plantsky #gardenssky

It's been a good month for Aeoniums. They’ve grown a huge amount in September after hardly doing anything for most of the summer. Here are 2 massive Aeonium tabuliforme plants, Aeonium 'Medusa' looking very pink and Aeonium glandulosum. #aeonium #succulents #plantsky #gardensky #GardensHour

I was also pleased to see my Sword In The Living Stone bowl garden appear in the British Cactus and Succulent Society journal this month. I'm hoping to take it to the mesemb show in Manchester next month too #lithops #succulents #mesembs #plantsky #GardensHour

We bought this Aeonium glandulosum at the National Cactus and Succulent Show in June but only repot it into a bigger pot recently and suddenly it's pretty massive. It's another species that grows as a single flat rosette. #aeonium #succulents #plantsky #gardensky #GardensHour

My Chamaecereus luisramirezii plant got a few seedpods after flowering last year. I assume it crossed with a Chamaelobivia hybrid. I planted the seeds this spring and they've grown really fast for cactus seedlings. I wonder what the plants will look like? #Chamaecereus #cactus #plantsky #cacti

Our pond sprung a leak years ago so the only water feature I've had in the garden this year is the mini river in my Winnie The Pooh bowl. I'm thinking up succulent garden ideas for next year and I like the idea of one with a mini lake rather than a piddly little stream. #GardensHour #succulents

I took some cuttings of my variegated Aeonium 'Garnet' plant this week. I left a few heads on, including one that has hardly any green. This plant offsetted heavily because a caterpillar ate its growing point. The last pic shows it in June. #aeonium #succulents #plantsky #gardensky

I've been repotting some seed-grown cactus into their own pots this week. I should have done it ages ago. I should have also taken the picture before the big red flower started to close on the Gymnocalycium baldianum. Better late than never I suppose. #cactus #gymnocalycium #plantsky #cacti
