NOTES FROM KGMARCY

This year I wanted to do something completely different from the other volumes... Since this year the color was gold, the first thing that came to mind was a carousel! Specifically the ornate details and lights. That was my initial starting point. From there I decided to do medieval themed outfits. Armor and flowy fabric is something completely out of my comfort zone so I decided it would be a fun challenge. The ruffles on the Alice's dress took the longest.

The knight piece was inspired by several random things. A little bit of Dungeon Meshi, some photos of jelly-filled pastries, and a little of songs describing love as consuming. Usually I draw Mia as cool-headed and serious, wanted to draw her flustered for once. I learned about armor parts and I got to draw pastries.
