Do you think the magenta pixels represent values off the high or low end of the scale, or are they "no data" values?

I haven't seen the recent Nolan film, but enjoyed a live performance retelling the story of the Odyssey this afternoon by mastodon.social/@JayLeeming who has been doing this for several years now.

Does this mean the Catholic Church about to return to becoming the world's largest funder of the arts?
October 2, 2026 tweet from Pope Leo XIV that reads "In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

"The Mercator layout ... Because of its projection style, however, regions near the equator appear significantly smaller than they are"
