At our recent Member Voice meet up we talked about words that we use in social care. One of the words that we didn't like was 'assessment'. In KeyRing we use that word a lot. But people said it felt a bit one sided. Time for a rethink.

This month we have our first Member meeting to discuss gloriously ordinary language. People supported by KeyRing will tell us words that make them shudder and share words they prefer. This is all part of people leading a life that is about more than support and the labels we stick on.

In the spirit of community, connection and just getting on with it. KeyRing Helping Hands is a project where Members (people who draw on our support) help each other. They've done decluttering, shed building, holiday planning, meal making, decorating. All because someone said let's do it.

Meet Lee. Lee is a master of getting things done. He wanted to arrange a Christmas meal for around 15 people. He booked it, collected money, took orders and generally made sure it happened. Lee gets support from KeyRing. Lee offers support to other KeyRing people. Some heroes wear santa tops.

Hurrah, we found in the settings that you can force alt text for any posts with images. That is good news for those of who have trigger happy fingers (ahem we may be guilty of this once or twice). A small step for accessibility but we'll take it.
