I’m really big into roller coasters & have rode 74 unique coasters & 179 total rides this year alone 😅 Also part of ACE (American coaster enthusiasts) & have gone to some cool events with extra ride time & behind the scenes tours definitely learned a lot more about the ride operation side this year

End of the day if a person is allowed to ride a coaster (fits in seat and clears safety checks) they should be able trust that will safely return to the station. If a ride can’t do that it 100% needs investigation, not just the excuse of its old & rough, or the rider didn’t ride defensively bs

I’ve already seen so many horrible comments on his weight and blaming him. 😔 And while we don’t have all the facts yet, it seems like this was not his fault. End of the day- getting on a ride, seat checked and clear, you should have zero reason to believe you won’t return safely back to the station

After this absolutely and I fully support it! I’m 1000% ok with waiting a tiny bit long and slower dispatch’s for safety. Regardless if technically necessary and if it “only makes guests feel more secure” it’s not going to hurt anything to have in addition so why not have it

Absolutely, these rides are statistically EXTREMELY safe but that’s assuming proper maintenance & upkeep Plus everything with X2 causing so many injuries for so long before its closure doesn’t leave me feeling very confident in Six Flags safety practices, feels like they value profit over safety

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

With this death right on the heels of the X2 closure… I sincerely hope that Six Flags thoroughly invegestages this tragedy along their overall safety operations and procedures.

A roller coaster death that’s genuinely a tragic freak accident & not due to medical or breaking rules is always scary. Safety is often written in blood & I’m sure this will be used to make future safety improvements & regulations.

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

It is also true that SFOG employees are grossly underpaid and I have to question if that is a contributing reason to the overall apathetic vibe I saw across many of the staff. With all that I personally am questioning that if this was a maintenance issue was it due to corners cut for cost reasons?

220

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

Additionally I have seen comments online regarding the staff at this park & the general attitude of them not caring. I did vist SFOG in July & personally agree that I was not impressed with ride operations. I did witness rows not being rechecked properly and kids of questionable height riding.

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

Lots of questions as to how and why something like this could happen in the first place with so many safety systems in place. Was the seat not properly secured in the first place? How can so many redundancies have failed and why? Was there prior know maintenance concerns?

120

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

4. Combo of all of the above, incident happened at the end of the ride on the last bunny hills which I can attest are INTENSE, you go up and down pretty quick and more forcefully than any other part of the ride. That force is likely is what did it but unclear when exactly the restraint opened or why

130

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

3. Body shape, the restraint may have been too much against his stomach rather than securely against the muscular part of his thighs, potentially not checked well or overlooked by ride opps.

120

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

2. Also on the maintenance side, could have been a faulty sensor on that seat, appeared to be a larger guy, could have had to force him into the seat and potentially the sensor was off and gave green when it should not have

120

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

Some of my speculation/thoughts in no particular order 1. Catastrophic failure of restraint, potentially one of the redundancies had failed and gone unnoticed/unchecked and so that seat suffered a catastrophic failure when the remaining ones failed. Could be due to poor maintenance.

120

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

So with that background information what I think happened is a tragedy due to compounding overlooked issues and negligence on six flags part. Lots of speculation at this point but my gut points towards opperation and maintenance issues on six flags side rather than B&M’s design or rider error.

140

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

This specific ride has mechanical ratcheting restraints (the kind that click down) & does not have a redundancy seatbelt like many other B&M clamshells do. Seatbelt is technically not needed as there are multiple redundancies built in already I’d be shocked if they weren’t added to all after this

120

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

The train physically cannot leave the station unless all seats are green and restraints are locked. After that the train is locked it cannot be unlocked until it’s back in the station or by maintenance row by row in the event of an evacuation.

120

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

On these trains typically seats are unlocked by rows & this appears to have only been one seat in the row which is extra strange & concerning. Additionally the restraint appears to have been in the fully up position which theoretically should be impossible with how it’s designed.

120

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

Goliath SFOG is a B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) hyper coaster with clamshell restraints which have been around for 20+ years & prior to this B&M has had pretty much a 100% safety record* so this is VERY shocking *excluding deaths due to medical incident or entering restricted area & got hit

chloe or SAM or sophia or marcus @keylimegreen13.swifties.social · 13/10/2026

The Goliath accident at Six Flags Over Georgia is first and foremost an absolute tragedy and my heart goes out to his family and the others who were injured. Thread below for why this specific incident is so scary and unprecedented
