The Green voters share was very similar to the 2026 Local Elections Green conference was 2.5 days inside a month long campaign - Labour had the same As leader you should have led at conference, especially with the Middle East motion, not encourage activists away! Lessons to be learnt

Labour have already moved with Burnham taking over and 30% in several polls. Trust you're prepared for the Holborn result

It will be interesting to see how the vote goes next week along with the Zionism = Racism debate Bottom line though is that Labour are actually the 🇬🇧 Gov't and what they deliver will change much in the run up to GE2029 Polanski bounce has disappeared which wasn't expected - what do they do now?

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
Today I'd suggest that we should all be reading around the first 100 days of this new Burnham administration together with what might be delivered and what lies ahead for GE2029 The suggestions around 🇪🇺 triple lock / social care and public services appear promising

The point is after 14 years of Tory austerity, corruption & incompetence, followed by two years of Blue Labour "caution" we're in a new place where the major issues can be evaluated As Voltaire stated, "don't let perfect be the enemy of the good" 🇬🇧 requires a decent vision & change of direction

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
Whether it's ex Labour or others, if this motion passes then Polanski will be stuffed by the media in the run up to Holborn & St Pancras polling day! This is how 🇬🇧 democracy works. "When somebody tells you who they are, believe them!

Many of us learnt about the rise of fascism in the 1930s - people should draw parallels between then and now in terms of events, direction and what's already happened 🇪🇺 🇳🇴 🇺🇦 & 🇬🇧 should all understand & be well prepared, but this takes time and the pitch requires rolling on a daily basis!

Whatever the result, let's hope you learn from the experience... de-prioritising a national conference appeared naive / panic driven End of the day, progressive voters want and deserve a mix of passion, resoluture and mature contemplation

Bringing immigration down to zero is economically illiterate but at least we can now ask the workforce & macro questions around what 2030 & 2040 might look like UK is a G7 economy which needs to find resources for defence, health, housing & services as well as design new solutions for tax & society

Nostalgic pessimism haa been manufactured by those who wish to maintain and/or develop control of the narrative so as to secure power Nothing to do with reality of the past nor optimum choices around 21st century G20 polycrisis Burnham success based upon listening, & designing new solutions

Reform Friends of Russia! Looking forward to inquiries as well as poll development over next six months 😀

Too right! Gov't has to fix small things, paint a vision, as well as challenge energy market and austerity nonsense! I mean how long should it really take to decouple electricity from gas prices?!
060
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
You're missing the fundamentals here! Not about protest nor technical perfection but all about pragmatic solutions to address challenges AND secure large enough vote to retain power Then again, you muted and gave up - snowflake!

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
He may have spoken alot but where's the clear messaging? Thames Water requires a restructure which in turn needs strong OfWat & expert handling Re energy try Dale Vince and taking gas out of electricity pricing As for wealth taxes, deliver land tax and scrap stamp duty + council tax Simples!

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
Try looking in depth at those three topics Then again, why not reflect upon latest UK polls showing Labour leading whilst your Polanski "bounce" has completely disappeared!

Might I respectfully suggest that both the issues a Labour Gov't face up until GE2029 AND our current five party system are a tad more complex than some make out Labour were hammered with Starmer, Lib Dems going nowhere and Green surge collapsed... Reform now under attack!

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
Burnham needs to address asylum appeals process and finish the job on asylum hotels. And at the same time look at legal caseload / queues as well as house building etc Labour overall needs to solve the Tory crisis KPIs, not copy Reform rhetoric!

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
The bigger questions are why the BBC repeatedly pumps out Reform propaganda, and where/ how might this change? Reform popularity has dropped over last 12 months for several reasons, but the BBC needs to restore its reputation ASAP

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 15/08/2026
His lies carried him up to 33% in the 2025, but he's now lost a quarter of his support for a number of reasons & issues. Blue Labour no longer in control / running scared Murdoch gunning for him + emergence of corruption stories Rupert Lowe biting off 5% with hard Right option

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 17/07/2026
Clacton campaign and results will shift things, as will the first 50 days of Burnham Let's see how Greens & Reform support develops in this new landscape - nothing will stand still

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 17/07/2026
All good stuff How about nationalising failing water companies, resolving defence & cyber approach, replacing stamp duty & council tax with LVT, together with creating jobs and regulating AI? Rest of 2026 gonna be very interesting

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 15/07/2026
Ideally Burnham and his team consider all options before landing on the most suitable candidate. Somebody who understands the treasury, finance, and how to kick-start growth. There's a real opportunity to launch a progressive Gov't and deliver 100 days of dynamic change
000
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 09/07/2026
Thx for sharing Gary made a splash on arrival and Novara love him But to develop a basic understanding one would do better to triangulate between Labour and Rowntree LVT and raising minimum wage both sound approaches. Social Care needs a revolution! As does state education

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 09/07/2026
The challenge today is to accept whatever happened in the past, recognise that the pendulum is swinging, then ask how, why and what we might do to ensure that the progressive majority keep securing wins This is extremely complex and open to interpretation every week!

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 06/07/2026
Reform lead over Labour down from 15% to 2% in the space of a month Multiple investigations pending or as yet unlaunched + Times exposing him + multiple Reform counsellors defecting, resigning or disqualified Then there's three by-election defeats on the bounce Let's see where we are end 2026 😉

Carswell conveniently ignores that Farage given the freedom of the BBC for a decade to build his racist populism & overtake Tories as they crash 2026 sees permission granted to hold Farage to account + Burnham allowed to take over Labour A variation of Tony Benn views as we realise Farage = Trump
110
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 05/07/2026
Posted this earlier It's not hard to imagine that individual(s) behind the scenes have called time on Farage since he will ALWAYS be defeated by Burnham at GE2029 The landscape in 12 months will look very different bsky.app/profile/kevs...
010
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 05/07/2026
Fascinating how the return of Burnham to Parliament, beating Reform plumber on the way has literally given permission to a wide range of outlets to stick the 🔪 into Farage Carol Cadwalladr & Peter Jukes have covered Farage for a decade and more And we can all see the receipts

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 02/07/2026
On the tax side this situation has developed then escalated since around 2002. Transfer pricing legislation was written in the 19th century for goods, not services When it comes to technical & cyber sovereignty 🇬🇧 🇪🇺 & 🇳🇴 must decouple from 7 🇺🇸 tech giants ASAP Worth serious research on both counts
020
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 02/07/2026
Thank you! A very decent appraisal of where we will be in a few weeks time. More needs to be written about today's G20 polycrisis and where the 🇬🇧 has advantages and choices One clear advantage is the sheer paucity of policy execution since the Crash! Time to do far better, especially with services

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 30/06/2026
Unless leader does exactly what you say, then s/he is guilty Please explain your democratic mandate or just tone down the commentary to something more rational!

It was But something significant has changed this year as Reform exposed in by-election campaigns and media has "permission" to probe Older, failed, white men are no longer the only show in town! Plus certain parts of the media now holding Farage to account

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
These are all fair challenges as the nation reviews the end of Starmer AND 10 years of Brexit Let us be clear that Labour has a process & it will take time for a new Gov't to shape their Cabinet, their agenda Progressive forces need to collaborate in shifting the direction of travel 💯

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 21/06/2026
It's absolutely vital that every major strand of policy / vision surfaces this summer... then converted into tangible delivery that makes a difference A massive Labour majority can and should be able to deliver urgent aspects of a Soft Left agenda - but they require clarity / focus
020
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 21/06/2026
It's all so complicated... and yet refreshingly simple when one takes time to understand what is effectively a handful of critical concepts & challenges facing G20 today Starmer (& Reeves) served a purpose for five years 🇬🇧 now enters this next phase & we must be robust with execution & analysis
000
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 21/06/2026
Starmer (& Reeves) led Labour since March 2020 There was caution but also stability Now there's an opportunity to look at rapid policy execution across a number of fronts... a real window for Labour to show what they want for 🇬🇧, as well as 🇪🇺 🇺🇦 etc

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 19/06/2026
Dear Femi Calm down and observe how this plays out Try making an adult contribution to the the narrative... try evolving from irrational toddler! Or is that too big an ask?
000
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
Do please continue to share thoughts as Westminster digests the result 5am Friday through to Sunday Perhaps clarity will emerge from process. Then again...
000
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
You're looking at everything through the lens of Rejoin & accession which is understandable Planning, Social Care, GDP growth, Defence / Cyber, AI are all under Westminster direction & most require collaboration with allies Will Burnham or Starmer lead and where will we be by GE2029?

Only Farage and Tommeh have politicised through calling for rage and riots Everybody else has called for due process Now examine overseas funding & fake news channels!

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 03/06/2026
Leaving aside top 1%, let's understand how top 40% have been bribed & indoctrinated since Thatcher / Reagan neoliberalism began Unions, public housing & public services = bad Yet vast majority of >60s rely upon NHS & social care at some point With austerity effects blamed on them forrins!

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 14/05/2026
He requires - permission from NEC - a given - local nomination - same - 13% swing on last week's results Now ask who Reform might stand to defend last week's gains and beat Burnham Transformational!

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 21/04/2026
We're all old enough to recall how silent these shrill opposition noises were when it came to Partygate and PPE fraud This is turning into a Trumpian challenge on the Labour Gov't so as to seek advantage for GE2029 Let's see how this runs together with the local election results
011
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 14/04/2026
Talking of context, 🇬🇧 🇳🇴 & 🇪🇺 all committed to raising defence to 3.5% GDP But they need to: - update threat & response theory - resolve procurement & collaborate - decouple from 🇺🇸 - agree how to fund... ideally QE or bonds, not cuts
000
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 12/04/2026
I find your suggestion that all private sector executives are replaceable both charming and naive! However, when you mention Starbucks, have you considered how they are able to reduce their UK taxes through transfer pricing rules going back to 19th Century?
000
Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 04/04/2026
An excellent piece which I missed at the time... If we are focusing upon energy inflation then surely our time would be far better spent looking at how to break the link between gas and electricity pricing? Renewables need to be priced in as well as insulation etc

Kevin @kevska.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
Labour stood on a platform of growth, ending austerity and renationalising trains etc Growth needs investment, stability & suitably qualified workforce Yet there's no NHS workforce plan let alone UK strategy There was no mention of fulfilling Cameron's pledges, so we've joined the Greens!
