People working in higher education and allies sharing strategies, bread, and butter @aaup.org conference! Colleagues in the film industry were nearby, for Comic Con, reminding us they have strong unions! Goals!

Working in my front yard and heard things falling in my garage. Found this beauty snooping around in there looking for food.

I was so hopeful this would replace Twitter for me. But as a teacher, it started out big and fizzled. I don’t see many teachers having made the jump and get very little interaction on here compared to what I still get on twitter(X)

Our Crush and Run and gone and run away. We have been working to cover it with mulch. We've laid 100 bags of mulch. The latest 60 bags were funded through @DonorsChoose. Check out our progress.

Wow,. someone in Massachusetts just finished off our project for mulch. That is enough to take us about 2/3rds of the way on the old dilapidated crush and run. Thank you everyone for the support.

Harvested the last of the garlic and gave it to the school district chefs. This was after letting my garden club kids take one if they wanted it.

This is our random sunflower in our school garden. I kept meaning to transplant it but didn’t. It’s in with the sage. It’s nearing 10 feet. Full bloom

It’s like watching a demolition derby with only two cars left. Or a cage match with just two left. You just can’t look away.

We recently got a @DonorsChoose project funded to replace rotted wood in our large butterfly garden. We went to work today to complete the project. There’s just a bit more to do probably tomorrow.

They keep trying to top my most bizarre school dismissal. Today was wild. I’m fine if it never gets worse than today.

So. My Library Media Specialist asked me this morning if we had ducks in the courtyard. I was like not that I’ve seen. She said the crows were going nuts. So we went exploring. She was very well hidden in the oregano.

My adult daughter has been up in her room hacking a lung up. She came downstairs momentarily. To get something to eat. I asked her about urgent care and she’s like it’s just a head cold. Made her take an at home Covid test. It’s positive. Crap. Told her to stay in her room.

We’ve spread a total of 40 bags of mulch, 2 cubic feet of mulch per bag. The garden club spread the first 20 bags. Myself and a volunteer spread 20 more bags today. Hopefully another 40 bags next week. The crush and run is six years old and just grows weeds.

We don't have access into our buildings on weekends. I can work in the bus loop garden and that is about it on weekends. My plans are kayaking and work around the house, probably work in the school garden some.

Third grade is usually the last of the three elementary grades to test. Reading is Monday and Tuesday this coming week. Math the following week. We do have nearly 200 test takers.

It is causing our students at the elementary level especially to lose access to programs that were approved. If they incorporate generative AI approval is axed until it’s evaluated

I’m at the elementary level and they aren’t letting anything but High School students access generative AI. teachers can access it though. #bfc530

I moved over to Bluesky because it seemed like a lot of educators were. I understand and agree about the climate on Twitter. But I still get seen and far more interaction on Twitter from other like minded educators on there than here.
