Would love to see @edzitron.com dig into this, I'm having a hard time finding any reporting on what the Tarbell Center is and who exactly finds it.

This one I remember really well because I was 18ish and in my peak arguing politics on forums years. Tried my best to explain to people that "fixing the data" didn't mean faking it.

To the "what kind of arms are we allowed to bear" question, it is legal to own a cannon. I built one with my dad in the late 90s.

I didn't think of her as a grifter, but she's always come off as deeply unwell. I'm still baffled by her calling Hank fucking Green anti-vax a couple years ago.

Also great is when they take something that always took one click/tap/swipe and make it take three.

That would honestly be really entertaining. I just recently watched Brand New Day and the first thing I did after getting home was watch the SMN bit on it that I had skipped earlier. I really enjoyed laughing at the low stakes stupidity and I'm all for expanding it to 3 hours.

As someone who does what many call "real work" (industrial electrician) I think your YouTube channel is immensely valuable. It encourages a type of practical curiosity that feels like it's been increasingly undervalued in recent years.

I always say we need to go pre-Bush tax cuts for everyone except for the top brackets which go back at least pre-Reagan.

I remember thinking texting while driving wasn't a big deal back when I had a flip phone because I could text without looking (probably stupid). Then I got a smart phone and tried texting while going 15mph down a quiet country side road and was terrified by how much I had to look away from the road.

Don't forget shooting the dog because it latched onto a cop and wouldn't let go. I was shocked how common that was.

This is giving me flashbacks to when hbomberguy found a webpage listing nationwide police fatalities and then realized that basically all of the fatalities were police dogs and then realized that basically all of those police dogs were killed by police.

It also makes zero sense because China wouldn't have wanted the world to think it originated from the wet market. SARS-CoV-1 also had a zoonotic origin and spread at a wet market, something that China tried to address. COVID-19 having the same origin represents a massive failure on their part.

You did what I want every interviewer to do with these smarmy little shits but they never do it. It's so satisfying to see an obvious grifter given the complete lack of respect that he deserves.

It's not even about them being wrong, it's about "the official narrative" being wrong and that experts are never to be trusted. All conspiracy theories flow from those first principles.

I wonder if it's because when people think union they think the trades. I'm a union electrician and I work with a bunch of union plumbers, millwrights, iron workers, etc and while they might not be overtly MAGA the vast majority of them are insanely conservative.

She said she didn't come out earlier because she didn't want to be known as a rape victim, but disliked how the NYT article was largely dismissed, and her statements ignored, because the strongest allegations came from that Republican operative.

One of Planter's exes, who previously described his erratic and unstable behavior in that NYT article, has accused him of forcible rape. This is NOT the Republican operative who described physical abuse, but a different woman who said that she agrees with his politics.

It's also an unfortunate reality that detergent companies don't sell their higher quality detergent in powder form. Thankfully I know a certain YouTuber who sells high quality dish detergent in environmentally friendly packaging. Good Store - EcoGeek - Dishwasher Powder share.google/FYgQJQXLBrYa...

Made in collaboration with Technology Connections, this dishwasher powder ditches the plastic pods for a cleaner clean. It tackles grease and grime head-on, rinses away without residue, and helps rest...

Exactly this. People tend not to notice it, but conversations while driving naturally start and stop around moments that require more attention from the driver. This doesn't happen with phone calls.

This is such a painfully bad faith interpretation. He didn't inform people that FDR existed, he explained how FDR used every bit of his power to implement his policy. This is something that current Dem leadership doesn't seem willing to do, and that was the whole point of that part of the interview.

It may well do good work and will surely be more competently run than DOGE, but I don't like playfully referencing something responsible for 800,000 deaths so far with millions more to come.

My first USB-C device was the original Pixel and Google replaced it twice under warranty because I thought the port broke. It "broke" a 3rd time after the warranty was up and I took it to a repair shop. The guy cleaned the lint out in 5 seconds and handed it back to me no charge.

A couple weeks ago Andres Muños almost had 4 strikeouts in the 9th. First batter struck out and stole 1st then the 2nd and 3rd batters both struck out. I was so disappointed when the 4th batter grounded out to end the inning.

Zoning has certainly been misused, but it has its uses. Most notably in separating industrial areas from where people live.

A tricky factor for the Dems is that unions like the IBEW push hard for data centers because they employ a shitload of electricians during construction. I'm proud to be in the IBEW, but this is an area where supporting union workers is in conflict with general good governance.

A big reason for declining birth rates in the US (maybe elsewhere, but I've only seen data focussing on the US) is the massive dropoff in teen births. This is clearly a good thing, but the people who shriek about birth rates never mention it.

Exactly right. I love out in the country and I intentionally take a longer route to the grocery store because the roads are emptier than the faster way.

Car enjoyer here, strong agree. Driving in cities sucks and no matter how much you tailor cities to cars at the expense of everything else it still sucks. Walking/biking/public transit is a far more pleasant way to get around in urban areas.
