"The question isn't whether to use AI to generate a design system – it's how to use it well." In this post, @kevincoyle.bsky.social gives his take on building #designsystems with AI in a way that keeps humans in the loop. Read it on @zeroheight.com:

Why AI needs your design system (and humans) - zeroheight
Kevin Coyle provides an expert take on building an AI design system that keeps humans in the loop, explaining how MCPs, tokens, and docs fit together.

One thing I'm glad of AI for is that I never have to re-learn regular expressions for the 20th time!

Shower thought: What if Bon Jovi's "Woah, we're halfway there" is actually Zeno's Paradox? Every time he says it, the remaining distance halves. He's always halfway there. He never arrives. Tommy and Gina are trapped in an infinite loop of hope.

New article for your augen. I've been messing with haptic tokens and the new haptic library by Lochie Axon. Let me know if the demo works on your phones! (Extra points if you got the reference in the opengraph image) kevincoyle.co.uk/blog/haptics...

Why Your Design System Can't Feel Anything
We've tokenised colour, typography, spacing and motion — but completely ignored touch. It's time to treat haptics as a first-class design token.

I think putting LLMs into chatbots primarily is one of the single worst places to put them. It gives them the illusion of comprehension and prevents them from truly being just tools. There are better places to use an LLM and it’s not your buddy.

Just recovered from the flu but anyone remember QBasic or TurboPascal from the 1990s? I was doing a spot of Laravel today and I missed it so I decided to make a TurboPascal style IDE for PHP. Why? Why not! Probably still got a fever or something.

I've been thinking about what it means to be alive recently. One of the key aspects of being alive is the will to continue that existence at all costs. Apparently AI now shares that desire too. I've written a piece for Drutek to go into my thoughts on this given the latest barrage of research it.

Not gonna lie I’m gutted about what has happened in Liverpool. A great deal of friends and family were there but fortunately all safe. Feeling both sadness and anger but as I know Liverpool well they’ll pull together for this.

I’ve been working on a tool to help me write my book. It’s called Nagatha. Styled like an old mac app I’m hoping it’ll be useful :) It helps me keep track of characters, jot down ideas for storyboarding and of course write and export the book into multiple formats.
