I’ve seen a lot of people say City should be relegated to the Championship for their crimes. Why are so many people saying that?! The Championship is way too good for them! They shouldn’t be accepted into any competition until they are under new ownership, at the very least!

United running stats. Call me old fashioned but I’m not too bothered that we aren’t sprinting & pressing like mad men off the ball. I hate this current obsession that everyone should play the exact same way. It’s the lack of urgency on the ball & intensity of attacking runs that bothers me.

If ever there was a game there for the taking it was that one. But once again we move the ball with zero urgency. Which has been a problem for many, many years. Moving the ball that slowly & even the body language of not looking urgent with it gives defenders nothing to think about or worry about.

Remember the Hull match where the commentators were at pains to tell us that Howard Webb promised everyone that VAR would be a lighter touch this year. Yet they overrule a pretty obvious & correct onfield decision in a huge game?!? It obviously won’t be but this should truly be the death of VAR!

Thing is, it’s obvious the goal shouldn’t have stood but that’s not the point. We were shite. The fact the ground was so flat in the last 10 minutes when we were chasing the game, especially the Stretford End and TRA, tells you everything about our performance.

Hope Rashford had a knock because why the fuck would you bring Zirkzee on for him in those circumstances. Proper fair weather player. Not got the fire in his belly for this type of game. It says a lot about the performance that there was no roar from the Stretford End while we’re chasing it.

Awful that was! Ok 11 vs 11 but as soon as the red card happened we stopped playing. Like we just assumed we’d win. I’ve got hope for Dorgu at left back but unfortunately he was at fault for their goal. I’m not one to get at Dalot but he was awful.

Went down for a beer at 38 mins as I always do and said to my mate “this needs to be 2-3-4 nil rather than 1–1” and sure enough, the second the words left my mouth we went 2-0 up. Honestly, me going down for beers has more assists than Bruno! 🙈

Goes without saying, but you can’t be conceding 2 goals every game. Not sure if bad luck or a pattern as there doesn’t seem to be a particular theme for the goals we’ve conceded but something isn’t fully right at the moment. I’m hoping it’s just teething problems.

Disappointing result. Promising signs within the performance, some nice football at times. Feel like we’re too quick to slow things down when we score away from home when we should go in for the kill. If we go 2-0 up there, their heads drop & they probably don’t score those goals.

That is, obviously, an awful result but I’m not going to panic yet. We looked really rusty and sloppy. Some of them looked like they were running through treacle. Hoping it is more a case of needing to sharpen up more than a fundamental issue. But even so, can’t be losing that one!

Interesting to see if he kicks on as expected or if his struggles from last season continue but he’s definitely the right type of midfielder we need. Feel far happier with a pool of Mainoo, Tielemans, Santos, Baleba & Mount when fit sharing those 2 midfield spots than without Baleba in the mix.

Not on the players this time. 100% on the manager. For the 3rd game in a row he’s gone too defensive too soon and it’s finally caught up with him. Doesn’t even feel like a heroic exit, just feels like the manager has let us down.

Sensible signing in a summer where we need to prioritise our money elsewhere in the squad. Trust him way more than I’d trust Bayindir & will be an adequate number 2. My worry would be if Lammens gets ‘2nd season syndrome,’ as Darlow in nets over a longer stretch wouldn’t fill me with confidence.

Very smart piece of business, this. Given that we need 3 new midfielders, now isn’t the time to be gambling. Santos should be fine having played a number of games for Chelsea, Tielemans is as safe a bet as you can get and for an excellent price. One we should have bought years ago!

Can’t say I remember seeing him play much at Chelsea, on account of me not watching much Chelsea. The response to the signing online has been oddly positive, especially compared to the reaction to Ederson. Not that that is a true measure of anything. Still feels like we need a big one in though.

100% won’t happen, but when thinking about the design of the new Stadium I’ve always liked the Indianapolis Colts stadium. Very different from the usual spaceship, bowl or tent designs & the brickwork effect is in-keeping with the old warehouses in & around Trafford Park.

I’ll obviously miss the old place but have accepted it’ll be a new stadium for a long time now. The main thing for me is that the new stadium is pretty much on the same site & not on some farmers field at the side of the M62 or something daft like that. At least we’re heading to the same place.

This would make a lot of sense. Solid Premier League goalkeeper, probably happy to play back up & an academy graduate. Won’t cost a lot which is important this summer with money needing to be spent elsewhere & can eventually slip into Tom Heaton’s role as 3rd choice when Heaton retires.

My one concern about tomorrows Champions League final is that if anyone can beat PSG, it’s Arsenal. They will have no shame in sitting back defending & trying to score from a stuffy corner.
