Ectopic pregnancy deaths have nearly doubled. It’s worse in states, like Texas, with abortion bans. Worth your time to read. Especially if you know a woman of childbearing age in Texas or other states that have banned abortion. Article by ProPublica.

More ectopic pregnancy deaths in abortion ban states like Texas
After Texas banned nearly all abortions, patients have struggled to get ectopic care. More than 300 patients here experienced substantial blood loss in 2023 and 2024, compared to 2018 and 2019.

How am I going to get this thing home… See what the Oxide rack looks like in your space- rack-in-place.kevin-spring507.chatgpt.site
An augmented reality rendering of an Oxide rack, a tall black server rack filled with bright green compute sleds and the Oxide logo on its side, standing in a sunny parking lot next to a white SUV with its rear hatch open, with a warehouse building and blue sky in the background.

I think I misread "who is this for?" IMO Outposts is for organizations who need an AWS region placed where there isn't one today, like in a specific state for gambling regulations, next to a stock exchange, etc. But comes with a lot of downsides to accomplish that.

This thing is mainly for large organizations who would benefit from being their own cloud provider. Not only egress, but paying millions of dollars less for VMs and storage. Simpler and more secure than traditional DIY private clouds because we provide the hw + sw. youtube.com/shorts/AeBqk...

Building the Oxide Data Center Explorer with Astra
Grid of seven screenshots from an interactive 3D tour of an illustrated Oxide data hall. Scenes move from a row of black Oxide racks with green sled faceplates and yellow overhead cabling, to close-ups of a compute sled pulled out from the rack, a front-loading storage sled, a network switch drawer, and power shelves with bundled cables. Each frame has a dark panel with a stop title and description, such as Cloud infrastructure in your data center and Storage spans the rack, plus tour controls for Back, Pause, and Next.

Interesting that I now live in a city I’m least similar to
Screenshot of a dialect quiz result from mydialect.us, titled "Your dialect map." A heat map of the United States shades regions from blue for least similar to red for most similar speech patterns, with the Southeast, Northeast, and West Coast in red and the Upper Midwest in deep blue. Text reads: "You talk most like someone from Florida — about 52% of your answers match a typical resident." A section below lists the cities most similar — Miami, FL at 52%, Washington, DC at 51%, and Los Angeles, CA at 51% — and least similar — Minneapolis, MN, Houston, TX, and Omaha, NE, each at 48%.

Liquid is the only option at the highest density but it requires plumbing to the rack(vast majority of data centers don’t have it) limiting where compute can be deployed. Also brings leak risks to the equipment. Liquid racks can push facilities towards evaporative cooling that consumes water.

we sell hardware (server, network switch, rack) and open source software (hypervisor, OS, control plane, block storage, VPC) designed together to bring a hyperscale cloud experience to large organizations who want their own cloud without the high cost, data concerns, etc of the public cloud.

I was partial to the Gen10 design, given the range of HP options, definitely bummed out when I saw the updated Gen11/12 bezel. It also allowed for more personality like with the storage arrays getting green accents.

@benleonard.bsky.social if the originals are not glb (obj, stl, not sure) we can make those available to folks as well, maybe with a subtle link at the bottom of the page to get the models that points to a folder in the repo with glb plus whatever other format we have that may be more user-friendly

This is basically the first thing I wanted when I joined Oxide over two years ago. Conventional wisdom says it would cost > $300k for an outside vendor to build plus > $80k/yr to maintain, and wouldn’t look that great. What you’ve built here is quite literally state of the art in our industry 👑

DRAM is dynamic based on available host memory config, up to 1.5TB, no change in recent releases. Storage is a max of 12x1TB virtual disks per VM, this was an increase in v18, originally 8 disks per VM.

I hope this kind of data point scares them into improving it drastically. But I fear locking subscriptions into Claude Code means they don’t feel as much competitive pressure on the harness.
Screenshot of an X post by Theo (@theo) dated 4/7/26 noting that Claude Code ranks last on TerminalBench among harnesses using Claude Opus 4.6, with ten other harnesses scoring higher. Below the text is a leaderboard table showing agents like ForgeCode at 81.8% accuracy down to Claude Code at 58.0%, with a red arrow pointing to the Claude Code row.
