My lad turned 28 this week. Thanks to the wonders of modern tech we had a nice vid chat. Time is flying.

This is a great time for gaming. I’ve been on Zero Company recently , Control Resonant this week and gone back to Pikmin 4 now we have a Switch 2 and got Starfox. Enjoying all of them and there is a bunch of other good stuff releasing.

Blasting out my Queen II vinyl having heard the brilliant “father to son” on Lanterns yesterday. What an album.

@chrissmith.bsky.social @schillingc.bsky.social I think a miracle may have happened. Helen has always been a Nint gamer, so a Nint console would happen as and when she wanted them. The lower tech never clicked for me though, always being a bit of a PC "graphics *****" at heart. well..

Got a Switch 2 in , having seen the Argos price cut , for the Nintendo lover in the house @htrebell.bsky.social , but that there will be plenty I can enjoy too.

Had a bit of an easing with my mobility. Made it out for a bus trip into town at last. Was not easy to walk but very worth it. Shattered but happy to do it. Library and bookshop visits. Was lovely.

We went to see The Odyssey. Really was as excellent as has been widely said. Perhaps a little on point with it directly telling us about the "Sea People" , "Bronze age collapse" (as we call them now) but was fair enough, helped to tie it into our known history.

I got out on my scooter seeing if I could get any amateur radio contacts higher up in my village on a handheld. Sadly no luck, I seem to be in a bit of a VHF dead zone.

If i became a trillionaire my instinct would be to get a large hobbit hole built populated by myself, wife and as many cats and dogs as we could fit in there. My instinct would then be to fund as many local library and education projects for poor kids as i could. fascism would not be my priority.

I picked up the Mixtape game after rave reviews can’t say it was my thing honestly. I found the kids un-relatable and kind of obnoxious and couldn’t relate to the experience (different time period , different country.. we could drink at 18, none of that secret partying stuff). A 6 or 7 for me.

This song, from an AS sufferer articulating the endless and impossible battle with systemic pain is just so absolutely spot on. I feel this in my blood and my bones. An endless fight that knocks you on your arse more and more until you can’t get back up again. youtu.be/7wtfhZwyrcc?...

Very much enjoying @retrogamermag.bsky.social Shadow of the Colossus special this month. The game that sold me a PlayStation. Loved it. That’s inspired me to get the ps4 version , just found it affordable at cex. Also thanks Cornwall Libraries for press reader, a treasure of a service.

Five years into owning a #ps5 , I finally gave it a decent amount of storage (I was using an external hdd as an extended store). This is so much quicker and easier just to have all your games playable.

I think Kingdom Come Deliverance II is going up there with my favourite games ever. For me it’s right up there with Knights of the Old Republic , Baldur’s Gate 3 and Metal Gear Solid 3. I was so utterly engrossed in all of it. Thrilling , great story , brilliant lead characters and voices.

If you have a mobility disability , especially one like AS which will also cause you severe pain when still, and you get booked into an MRI at the new Redruth hospital unit , I'd advise phoning and asking them to move it whilst it's a portable unit. I was just there and came out with black out pain
