A cornea is not one tissue. It is three, stacked: epithelium, stroma, endothelium. Building a full-thickness cornea from iPSCs means solving three differentiation problems, not one. All three cell production methods are expected by the end of 2026. Prof. Heli Skottman explains — link below.
