No Kings
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to send a clear message: in America, we have no kings. Power doesn't belong to billionaires, strongmen, or politicians who think they're abo...

Yes! As I posted yesterday, "Trump is and has been throughout his second term, disqualified from the presidency by Amendment 14, Section 3. A determined Congress could remove him from office using that section alone. And an illegitimate president is no president at all."

Yes, in fact the first impeachment (where no evidence was allowed at trial) did slow Trump, barely enough for Biden to win. Biden would not have won without the first impeachment. The second impeachment blocked any further insurrection before Biden's inauguration. And yes, his ass should be in jail.

This is fun cartoon fantasy for people who don't know how to pronounce the word "impeachment". C'mon, Robert, do you seriously think this is more likely than impeachment? If so, make the argument. It would be far more likely to convince a few Republican Senators to convict. #ImpeachConvicRemove

Robert- You ask the perfect question: What can Dems actually do if they take both houses? And then you completely avoid the one and only answer: impeach! Why is that word so hard for you to say? Impeachment wins, every time, even without a conviction. But the word wasn't even used in this show. WTF?

The purpose of this barbaric, death-streamed execution has nothing to do with deterrence. The goal of public execution is to numb the populace to cruelty, and to prepare us for what the regime has planned next. This is what tyrants do.

A note to those who haven't read the 25th amendment. The process of removing a president via the 25th is started by his own cabinet, then must be confirmed by 2/3 of both House and Senate. Impeachment is a much more direct process, and requires much less Republican buy-in than the 25th.

Asking Trump's hand-picked cabinet to remove him is beyond silly. YOU have the power of impeachment. Instead of passing the buck, you can use the constitutional power you have to force Republicans to vote on each one of Trump's high crimes. Be brave. #ImpeachConvictRemove

First, even without conviction impeachment puts evidence of his crimes in front of the American people. But I don't really see it as "seats up for grabs." I see it as 10 human beings who need to be persuaded to vote against a criminal. I won't stop believing that's possible.

I disagree, and I've never seen evidence for that cliche. Any serious impeachment effort will weaken the tyrant. And without impeachment as the goal, anything Congress tries to do is pointless, isn't it? But, yes, impeachment with conviction will be even better!

Accountability is not a strongly worded letter. It is not an incisive question, not a lower poll number. Accountability is being stopped from continuing crimes, being impeached and removed from office. It's being fined, having accounts seized, property sold. Accountability is jail... or the noose.

The only real power a Democratic Congress will have is to impeach that criminal POSOB for every crime he commits. Impeachment is the one and only constitutional defense against a criminal president. The rest is just performance.

I think AOC is exactly right here. Kraft is engaging in a kind of economic censorship that goes against American values. Happily, the artists with a conscience (which doesn't include Sheeran) have countered effectively. And Kraft and his cronies will lose a lot of money for trying this.

Trump is a criminal. His motive is to increase his wealth and power. He hates America, he's a narcissist, true, but surely his criminal greed for money and power is the only motive we need to understand to put him in jail where he belongs.

Sadly, no courage for impeachment here. Hoyle sat out the vote to table Al Green's impeachment measure. If all the Dems had voted together, they could have brought impeachment to a vote before the midterms. But, no. So, perhaps I should sit out my vote for her this November? No courage, no vote.

It's worth remembering that it's also illegal to accept money in exchange for your vote, so if Trump did send this money out-- which he won't-- he would be making anyone who cashes the check a criminal.

One more impeachable crime in a long list of impeachable crimes. As long as the criminal is in the White House, he'll just keep committing crimes because he's a criminal, and no one is lifting a finger to stop him.

I think the part of the Declaration that starts, "mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable..." answers Q1. Che said something similar. Too many people still see the present as tolerable, and don't see what's coming. That gap will close as things get worse; prepare the ground.

I’d really advise journalists, academics, historians and political analysts to stop trying to use ordinary political and historical lenses to understand Trump. Instead, you have to see him as the first purely criminal president in America history, who has used politics for one purpose only-- crime.

I hold these ideas to be self-evident: Impeachment is the morally correct response to a criminal president; impeachment of a criminal president is good politics, because it shows courage and fighting spirit. Not impeaching, in contrast, shows both moral and political weakness. #ImpeachConvictRemove

Impeachment is the one and only priority. There is no "working with" a criminal, fascist regime. There is no "good for Americans" legislation that will pass this criminal regime. The only job of Dems in Congress now is to convince enough Republicans (and Dems) to remove the criminal from office.

The floods in Nepal are an example of climate chaos, the abrupt and catastrophic failure of a once stable ecosystem. Can you imagine the same sort of catastrophic change on much a larger scale? It's coming. Not a new normal we can get used to. Rather, the unpredictable chaos of a collapsing system.
