Think it adds a nice visual hierarchy as you read and was my first time doing a zine spread layout, so I wanted to keep it simple but not so simple that its flat and same-feeling on each page.

Kept the spreads of Haunting of Raine Manor fairly simple, just a touch of art and some contrasting panels to make it pop a little.

Really happy with how the cover came out! Once I realized I could fit the point of the tower in the "O" of "MANOR" I was like "yep this is the one".

Toying around with Astro, really liking it! I think any web framework with a custom template/language/syntax that isn't just jsx turns me off at first but I like how astro structures components.

Used Kids on Bikes 2nd Edition worldbuilding questions for my D&D campaign and it was very effective. I really wanted to make the characters base village their own and from my experience with the KoB campaign I ran it seemed like the perfect fit. 10/10 no notes.

Toying around with the idea of doing a "mini-map" of the section of the dungeon that the spread is showing. In this case just areas 1, 2, and 3. This would be in addition to a full map in the back of the zine. Think it might make a multi-page adventure a bit more digestible.

It Comes at Night was good it just didn't wow me. Also it felt more thriller/drama than horror. I feel like people say that about a lot of A24 high concept type modern horror but I generally haven't agreed with that until this one. Wasn't bad by any means just probably not gonna be one I watch again

I liked The Ring a lot more than I thought I would! It's also just been parodied and referenced a bunch so nothing was really surprising but I can't really fault the film for me taking 20 years to see it. Would have scared the shit out of me as a kid so I definitely wasn't watching it then lmfao.

House of 1000 Corpses was fine but I think just not for me. Given I like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and this was clearly inspired by that I think I expected to like it more. Some letterboxd reviews lead me to think I just maybe don't like Rob Zombie's style but will watch more of his stuff to see.
