Sir Percival Von Snufflepup, aka Cobalt, found himself something to chase on our stroll. This is inches deep woodchips and something lives beneath. Had to walk him in the creek to clear his paws. On the whole, I think he likes his new home. I know I needed him now.

O e month ago I got a new rescue puppy and in that time he's gained 5 whole pou ds. Now he's only 76 pounds at 9 months. Big change for me because my last dog died 40 years ago and he was a toy poodle. Cobalt here? Well, he's adjusted perfectly and loves having a whole forest to play in I'm so in ❤️

Today was a beautiful day! Went to the Phoenix Zoo with both my daughters. These days I hold dear, those rare ones when I'm able to do something not only with my little one, but with my eldest as well (she's 35 with a life so these hookups are rare). Just a beautiful day!

My 21yo profoundly autistic daughter, who likes to look at what movies playing, chose "Dracula". She was insistent saying "Pictureshow Movies vampire" She's only seen a few live action films in the theater. She's never seen a horror film. She watched intently and laughed at the gargoyles. Good film!

1st 2000 word chapter complete pretty much exactly according to plan. This took longer than I expected, but then I expected it to take longer than I expected. The first chapter defines my "hero words" and I needed to find out what would and would not work. Hurray for detailed outlines! #amwriting

For 11 1/2 delightful years, some times difficult, all times amazing, there has been one constant through all of my daughter's growth. She could barely speak, had a special diet, wore diapers... Oh, she's changed so much. Still, "Wheels on the Bus go round and round..." is the eternal refrain.

It was around 1998 or so and I read a newspaper clipping. I was experimenting with diverse forms at the time. This is an early Sestina of mine. This is the structure I use with my prose... I've adapted the Sestina form for longer usage. My next work will be 84,500 words in this format structure.

A Christmas Story

Flying a P-51 Mustang, Major George E. Preddy
earned a place in history during a dogfight
against a schwarm of fighters from the Luftwaffe.
Preddy flew for the United States Army Air
Force in the bitter battles over Europe
that raged throughout the second half of 1944.

On the evening of August 5th, 1944,
thinking the next day’s mission was canceled, Preddy
had a few drinks and engaged in a dogfight
of craps. Not expecting to encounter Luftwaffe
the next morning, Preddy followed the traditions of air
men on both sides of the war in Europe.

As the sun cast it’s first light over Europe
on the morning of August 6th, 1944,
reveille announced that the mission was on. Preddy,
who was still too drunk to engage in a dogfight
with anyone, let alone the highly trained Luftwaffe,
led his flight of Mustangs into the air.

Shortly after his P-51 was in the air,
Preddy vomited into his oxygen mask as Europe
passed below. That summer morn in ‘44,
still drunk and suffering a hangover, Preddy
would lead his squadron in a historic dogfight
against a flight of over thirty Luftwaffe.

Within five minutes of the battle, six Luftwaffe
fighters burned smoke trails through the air
as they plunged toward the fields of Europe.
For that mission on August 6th, 1944,
the Distinguished Service Cross was awarded to Preddy
for the most kills by a pilot in a single dogfight.

Months later, in the midst of another dogfight,
Preddy was chasing down a Luftwaffe
ME-109 when his Mustang was hit by friendly anti-air
craft fire. The life of an American Ace in Europe
ended on the morning of December 25th, 1944,
when a .50 caliber bullet killed George Preddy.

On Christmas Day, 1944, Major George E. Preddy
of the U.S. Army Air Force, engaged the Luftwaffe;
in the ensuing dogfight, history was made over Europe.

I have been having turkeys follow me as we came up to thanksgiving. The other day I turned around to find a tom turkey twenty feet behind me matching my pace. My mom found a turkey behind her car today. This one went so far as to remove its own head. These things are desperate to be eaten! #turkeys
