The writers of the Constitution didn't think the Senate would voluntarily give up power to the Executive branch when approving senior officers who are supposed to be dedicated to Justice or the Law not to the Administration. (See two admins ago when more fed officials resisted political pressure.)

I am fond of Chinese names being so short. Back in the 20th, same names broke databases because they were not programmed to deal with signkr-letter names. They had to reprogram databases going forward. On the other hand, some European names are less name than life story of a family.
