Good morning, Andrea! Good luck with the edits

The Husbands was pretty good, but I felt it had so much potential it didn’t quite live up to. It asks the question ‘What if you could swap out your partner an unlimited number of times until you found the perfect person. Would you ever be satisfied?’ #Booksky #Books #Reading

Time, age, experience, and distance have definitely helped me write this in a way I couldn’t have back that. I hope some distance from your novel helps you as well!

Society of Lies is a gripping thriller about the death of two Princeton students years apart and how they relate to a secret society at the school. I tore through it. If you like a good thriller, then this book might be for you. #Booksky #Books #Reading

Thank you so much. You’re so right.

Good morning, Harvey. That’s great!

Good morning, Jennifer. I’ve gone back to a novel I started 8 years ago and could never quite figure out the ending of. It has been languishing on my computer all this time, but recently the words have really been flowing, and I’m optimistic that I’ll be able to finish it.

I’ve gone back to an unfinished novel I started years ago with fresh eyes and the words having been flowing out of me. It feels great. I think I’m going to be able to finish it this time. #writingcommunity

That’s great! I used to be able to get up regularly to write at 5am but after age 40 it just feels harder somehow. I often turn off my alarm and go back to bed, but I love that the 5am crew is there when I do manage to get up at 5.

I just started reading Nobody Asked For This. I read her first book and liked it so I picked this one up the day it came out. I might go to the author event tonight at Type Books on Queen Street if I can muster up the energy. Is anyone else in Toronto going? #BookSky #Books #Reading

Welcome to BlueSky! I’m fairly new here too, but #5amwritersclub has been very welcoming.

It was a great episode and I’m loving the new album, The Purple Bird.

I listened to a third Rachel Hawkins book. This one is set on an isolated island in the South Pacific. #books #reading #audiobooks

I’ve never watched a Shondaland show before, but I’m quite enjoying The Residence so far (I’m on episode 4). It is a quirky whodunnit with a great cast and a lot of humour. It is worth a watch if you have Netflix.

Your emoji captured Marble’s expression perfectly. 😝

It’s Saturday’s #5amwritersclub and I’m here for it! Wishing you all the best with your writing this weekend. #writersky #writingcommunity

The most powerful weapon against writer's block? Routine. Not inspiration. Not motivation. Just showing up at the same time, same place, day after day. Magic follows consistency. #writing #amwriting #writingcommunity #writerslife

Nice! I feel the same way when a book is set in Toronto.

What a great title! I love comparing the books to the movies. Books have the benefit of length so they can really explore and be beautifully descriptive, but there is something really interesting about the story being told through the brevity of a movie. I love seeing books come to life.

I really enjoyed it the first time and started it again last night. I love when the title of the book shows up in the book and in this one that happens in the first chapter. What do you think so far?

Weekend (re)reading: Little Fires Everywhere by @pronounced-ing.bsky.social (Celeste Ng). What are you reading this weekend? #books #reading #booksky

This book might be a little too scary to listen to at night so I’ll have to listen to it while I cook and exercise. I hear they are turning it into a movie with Adam Scott, so I’d like to finish it, but I’m a real wuss when it comes to scary books/movies. #books #reading #audiobooks

What a great name! Angel is a super sweet kitty, too, and braver than my boy cat. Whenever someone new comes over she’s the first to go over and say hello.

He’s got his little tongue out too. Being extra cute.

That’s exactly how I feel. It stresses me out to the extreme (especially being Canadian when a powerful bully is going after my country), but I feel like it is better to know.

Checking in to #5amwritersclub a few minutes late today. Marble came and head-butted me to remind me of my priorities. Good luck with your writing today!

I feel the same way. Let me know when you want to start it and what pace you want to go and we can discuss it as we go along (if you like).

Sure! I’ve actually read it before, but a very long time ago. My dad just read it and loved it and I figured that with my terrible memory it would probably be brand new to me again after all this time.

She’s a beautiful, chatty little lady. She has so much to say 🐈‍⬛
