Coconut Grove - Kaunakakai #hawaii #travel #photography #canon #palmtrees #outdoor #nature #kodak #film #filmphotography

A grove of tall, slender coconut palm trees fills the landscape at Coconut Grove in Kaunakakai, Molokaʻi, Hawaii. Their dark, often leaning trunks rise from a flat, grassy clearing, while dense crowns of green fronds form an intricate canopy against a bright blue sky. Sunlight filters through the palms, casting soft shadows across the sandy ground, with a glimpse of the ocean visible between the trees in the distance. The repeating vertical trunks and sweeping fronds create a striking pattern, conveying the peaceful, tropical atmosphere of this historic coastal palm grove.

Triptych Place Balconies #london #england #britain #uk #gb #architecture #photography #monochrome #blackandwhite

A black-and-white photograph looking upwards between the modern residential buildings of Triptych Place in Bankside, London. The façades are dominated by successive rows of projecting balconies with sweeping, undulating edges, outlined by bright white fascia panels and enclosed by slender, dark metal railings. The balconies curve in alternating directions, creating a striking, rhythmic pattern of flowing horizontal lines against the buildings’ darker undersides. Between the two main sections, reflective vertical cladding and tall windows add contrasting textures and narrow strips of light. The tightly framed, upward-looking composition emphasises the height, sculptural geometry and repetitive patterns of the architecture, while the monochrome treatment highlights the contrast between light balcony edges, deep shadows and metallic surfaces.

Brighton Beach #sussex #england #uk #gb #britain #photography #fujifilm

A weathered, disused fish and chip kiosk stands on the pebble beach at Brighton, its faded cream walls supporting a distinctive, curved metal roof with peeling paint and heavily rusted lettering around the overhanging canopy. A large, hand-painted sign advertises “Skinless & Boneless Cod & Chips” and “Fresh Hand Cut Chips”. Two seagulls perch on the roof, while the kiosk casts a sharp shadow across the stony beach in the bright afternoon sunshine. In the background, Brighton Palace Pier stretches out over the sea, with its Victorian-style structures and amusement attractions visible beneath a clear blue sky. The photograph captures the faded seaside charm and slightly neglected character of Brighton’s beachfront.

Baddesley Clinton #warwickshire #england #uk #gb #britain #architecture #photography #fujifilm

A symmetrical view of the historic manor house at Baddesley Clinton, Warwickshire, seen from a paved entrance bridge flanked by low, weathered red-brick walls. The central stone entrance tower features a large, multi-paned leaded window, a crenellated parapet and an arched gateway with a small red heraldic shield above it. The long, pale stone wings extend on either side beneath dark, moss-covered tiled roofs, punctuated by tall, distinctive brick chimneys and traditional mullioned windows. The gateway frames a glimpse of a further courtyard entrance beyond. Overhead, a dramatic sky of dark grey clouds and brighter patches of blue and white adds atmosphere to the scene.

Royal Crescent, Bath #england #uk #gb #britain #architecture #photography #nikon

A wide-angle view of Royal Crescent in Bath, showing the sweeping curve of its grand Georgian terrace under a clear blue sky. The long row of honey-coloured Bath stone houses extends from the right foreground into the distance on the left, forming a dramatic semi-elliptical arc. The three-storey façades are highly uniform, with tall Ionic columns rising through the upper floors, sash windows, decorative iron balconies, and a continuous classical entablature beneath the roofline. Numerous chimney stacks punctuate the slate roofs.

In front of the buildings is a broad cobbled road curving gently around the crescent, bordered on the right by a stone-paved pavement and black-painted iron railings. On the left, the railings enclose a neatly maintained, vivid green lawn. The low winter sunlight illuminates the stone façades and casts long, soft shadows across the road, while the deep blue, almost cloudless sky occupies much of the upper half of the image. The composition emphasises the impressive scale, symmetry and curvature of this celebrated Georgian architectural landmark. The Royal Crescent comprises 30 houses and was designed by John Wood the Younger, with construction taking place between 1767 and 1775.
