#KidLitArtPostcard ! I'm an award-winning #illustrator and #author open to early readers, picture books, and board books. Seeking representation. Portfolio: kelseymarshalsey.com Kid-me absolutely loved to make up her own stories and bind them with a bit of string. #kidlitart #illustration

An illustration done by Kelsey Marshalsey (illustrator & author). The illustration features the illustrator, Kelsey, as a kid. She has fluffy blonde hair and a 90's patterned sweater on that is blue, pink, and yellow. She has peachy skin with pink cheeks and her tongue is sticking out as she concentrates on drawing herself. In front of her are a bunch of papers with drawings, pencil crayons, string, and a book that is bound that reads "My Nano by Kelsey" with a Nano Tamagotchi drawn on it.

Yesterday I took a step away from the screen and painted and it was so much fun. A goal of mine is to do a book completely in traditional mediums - so I’m excited to play around more.

Today I was laid off from my full time job (unrelated to any illustration work) - but this may be a blessing in disguise as it now means I get to focus solely on my illustration and design work. Change is scary but it could also be for the best.
