As I typically do when September finally arrives, I feel I am coming alive once more. The summer shutdown is ending; my heart is once again teased by the delicious muse. I recently found some music whose lyrics sparked an inspirational fire inside me. I find myself in one of those "I want to read everything and write everything" moods. Lyrics are just poetry set to music.

Check out the latest article from my Substack! If you are a writer, you'll understand the whole "childhood dreams vs reality" idea. Until next time...

Following that childhood dream doesn’t always look how we imagine.

Luc Besson’s Dracula: A Love Tale abandons Bram Stoker’s novel for a romantic fantasy that amounts to a poor imitation of Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 film, writes CHRIS NEWTON

My books are no longer for sale. If you own them already, they are now collector's editions. Before you freak out, let me explain: I am still writing. You can't get rid of me that easily. I have decided to unpublish all my Twisted Libra work. I am currently revising it all, and I plan to release new, revised versions under my actual name.

I wrote something new today. It's been a while. I do hope you will give it a look. Until next time...

People often talk about their current era. As in, "This is my Diva Era," or "This is my Villain Era." I don't know that what I am experiencing can qualify as an entire era, but I do feel as though I have moved ahead into some unexplored territory. Well, that's not really true. This isn't necessarily unexplored territory; I'm simply viewing it from a new…

I felt incredibly positive today. That's not necessarily my default setting. Or at least, it hasn't been for quite a long time. However, I admit my recent shift in mindset has greatly reduced my stress levels and my overall unhappiness. That's not to say I don't still get low sometimes; I'm only human. I just don't live there like I used to.

I debated whether or not to write this here or on the Substack, but the blog ultimately won out. This is kind of deep, so it's maybe not the right fit for the ol' stack. This will be a bit long, so if you're hoping for a quick read, you might want to set it aside for later. I have a lot of feelings clamoring around inside me and I'm going to get wordy.

From childhood belief to adult cynicism.

I find myself in new territory today. I recently decided to retire my pen name and online persona to move forward creatively using my real name. This wasn't an easy decision. I spent the last 6+ years cultivating Twisted Libra. She was part of me, but she also embodied facets of life that I never really pursued. She was unapologetically goth, reveled in the paranormal, and lived in her own cemetery.

Welcome to my blog. If you are already a subscriber, you will notice that a lot has changed around here. This blog was formerly titled "Dancing Among the Remains." It served as an outlet for me under the guise of my pen name, Twisted Libra. I recently decided to retire my pen name and begin publishing under my real name. There is a lot to unpack here, and I promise I will get to that.

When the person and the pen name collide.

I'll just come out and say it: I am back on fucking Facebook. Don't even start. I know I made a huge, dramatic exit and swore off all things Meta. Unfortunately, in order to properly promote Twisted Libra, I must have a Facebook Page. To have a Facebook Page, I need a Profile. So, I tucked my tail between my legs and set one up.

Balancing the real world with the ones we create.

I did a thing, my lovelies. I spent the better part of today completely rebuilding my website. If you recall, several months ago I encountered a problem with my site being offline. I initially built the site through Google, but when they ceased operations on their website support, I migrated the domain over to WordPress. However, the settings established by Google became somewhat incompatible with the WordPress settings.

I do. It's true. I have so many irons in the fire lately that this blog seems to be falling to the wayside. I apologize for that. I will try to post here more often. This is where I can let loose with my random thoughts. I need this space for my own sanity. Thanks for hanging in there, my lovelies. Until next time...

When your "goth" doesn't fit a category.

The beauty of old cemetery tombstones.

Welcome back, my lovelies! I have been a busy little Libra! I decided to start a Substack. It's kind of like a blog, but more like articles. It gives me a chance to flex my intellect and write about all the macabre things I can't fit into the podcast. You can find it here, and I urge you to subscribe. You don't want to miss anything, do you?

I write this post with my head hung in abject shame. I, who made such a vehement exodus from all things Meta back in January, have now created an Instagram for my Twisted Libra content. I hate myself right now. Try as I might, I could not find a decent way to gain exposure or to connect with others. Every creator I admired seemed to only be reachable via the 'Gram.
