btw they do this so they don’t have to hire back the same crew on a raise 🤙 (speaking from experience)

Life update: I’ve converted - I’m now a Mac person. Also, there was a title upgrade to professor. Adjunct, technically, but pretty cool though. New work on the way shortly. I’m baaaaaaack.

The real difficulty is getting the ideas to stop popping into your head at 2am so you can finally sleep. 💀

Sometimes you just gotta get out of Maya and touch clay, y’know?

I worked with Aaron at thecgriff.com again on this new personal work. It went through several major changes thanks to the amazing feedback along the way. I did all of the animation, lighting, environment models, and comp. Rigs by ProRigs.com and voiceover by @everlastingfae.bsky.social

A week off work is a great time to start something new, so I got some environment modeling done for a new animation. In this house it’s always spooky season. Stay tuned. 👀

Optimist: The cup is half full Pessimist: The cup is half empty 3D artist: We should make the cup opaque so we don't have to deal with water VFX

There's something I need people to understand. The studio that made this released some numbers. They had to produce 85 minutes of footage to find 15 usable seconds for this ad. The machine that creates moving images out of nothing has a failure rate of 340:1 and the best 15 seconds... is this.

I really miss the period of my life when I was young and didn’t injure myself by ::checks notes: doing absolutely nothing except moving normally

My favorite part of working on a show is that there’s a deadline and at some point a director and/or producer will take the shot away from you and save you from the infinite obsessive noodling you would otherwise be doing for all eternity.

The stages of my animation process: I love this idea I can’t wait to work on it I am a fraud I should’ve gone to law school Nevermind this looks ok Noodling and re-rendering until I will literally wither and die if I change one more keyframe It’s ok I guess but I’ll be better next time

New work is imminent so here’s some older work in the meantime. This is the unfortunately 100% true story about the time I knocked myself out trying to escape a flying roach. 😅

Hello, Bluesky. I’m Kelly, an animator who you may vaguely remember because of that one time I accidentally went viral on Facebook. My 15 seconds of fame is over but the art making continues. Come see my little art nonsense!

So I guess I’ll start using this place more often now that the other one is…uhm. Yeah.
