In an early scene, Batman tells Jimmy Olson that he's a hero, so that's cool. In all seriousness, Pattinson and Gisondo are fantastic throughout. They are such excellent foils and the layers of what t...

My two favorite actresses are Grace Kelly and Jayne Mansfield. I don't think they're the best, but they're my favorites. Both of them had struggles, both in the industry and personally, and both of th...

I'm going to need every single one of Ewan McGregor's shirts in my wardrobe immediately. Peak lame '80s dad fashion and I'm here for it. Super fun time. Lots of elements that evoke Spielberg of the er...

This is where the Renaissance unofficially ended — pop singer soundtrack instead of a musical and an overabundance of CGI — but it is an excellent one for the era to end on. Phil Collins knocks it out...

One of the best early examples of a production for an animated film specifically designing the characters around the voice actors. I believe in George Sanders as Shere Khan supremacy. He's so perfect ...

Sorry guys, I don't really care for the downgrade in animation. The story is cute but pretty simple and the cheaper animation and revert to 4:3 aspect ratio after the big wide-screen formats for Lady ...

I would absolutely die for Jock the Scotty Dog. He's so little and his little legs move so fast and he's got a fluffy mustache and in the winter he has a little knit sweater and I love him. Absolutely...

Tinkerbell is such a baddie. Was she my first animated crush as a kid? Yeah, probably. And my type has not changed much at all since. Rewatching this for the first time as an adult, I'm 100% siding wi...

Welcome back New York City as a main character in a Spider-Man movie again. It's been a while and we're glad to see it. Loved seeing the chemistry between Tom and Zendaya and Jacob. Having to play a d...

This is a review of the proshot. There are definitely some highlights and some gorgeous moments in the cinematography and the editing, but most of the time this one didn't do it for me. A lot of seque...

I'm saddened that I liked this so much less on this rewatch. Maybe it's because I'm older and wiser and just reread the novel, but it's missing something — a damn to give. First of all, I don't buy Re...

Leave it to the filmmaker that has mastered the combination of intimate storytelling, epic scale and nonlinear presentation to deliver audiences the ultimate intimate epic that was passed down orally ...

Oscar nominations for the entire cast? I wouldn't be opposed to it. Four people talking over each other could so easily sound like utter chaos, but the balance and the blend and the flow and the rhyth...

Some really astounding filmmaking going on here that I never fully absorbed in previous watches. Because so many of the actors played their roles on Broadway for several months, there are a lot of lon...

Still slaps. Haters gonna hate. Don't let anybody yuck your yum. This is a fun time, script issues be damned.

Growing up, I had the first two films on VHS tape. The third one I own on DVD. The fourth one I never got a physical copy of because I can pull it up any time on Disney+. But my favorite stuffed anima...

This was exactly what I was hoping for. Fully embraces the cheese and camp of the '80s cartoon but revels in it rather than punching down. Yes, there are a few self-jabs and fourth-wall breaks, but it...

Unironically one of the sexiest movies of the 1980s and not even because of the couple of blatantly sexy scenes. Something about Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis in these normal situations has undenia...

It's so refreshing to have a movie that feels how watching the original trilogy as a kid felt on the big screen again. It's fun, it's an adventure, it's funny, it's got a variety of cool alien charact...

I've been told this is the most accurate depiction of what it's like to be on a drug trip ever committed to celluloid. I couldn't say for sure myself, but I believe it. I never hear anyone talk about ...

This was one of my all-time favorites as a youth, and even though I've seen many movies since and haven't revisted this one in probably a decade, it's still a favorite. Maybe it's because I love golf,...

I'm a simple man. Guy Ritchie makes a spy or crime thriller infused with comedy, sexy people in expensive outfits at expensive locations, and intense action scenes with guns ablazing, I'm a happy camp...

Three or four really fantastic scenes surrounded by about 2 hours 30 minutes of pretty okay stuff. I didn't feel an emotional connection to the story or characters the first time I saw it, and on this...

Joe Hisaishi has written some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard, but I don't think anything will ever top the Merry-go-Round of Life. A perfect marriage of melody and instrumentation and emo...

This must have been that era in the '90s when people were taking things far too seriously and thought anything with camp and wimsy and imagination was cringe. Shocked to see that both Jovovich and Tuc...
