i could talk about this for hours actually, not a single relationship in this show is traditionally healthy and that’s what makes them so interesting to explore. it makes them feel real and magnifies some of the most unique parts of human relationships and how complex they are

ahhh yes i know it’s satire and they’re all insane but i feel like the fandom is so popular with neurodivergent, queer and traumatized people because the show doesn’t shy away from representing things like that that are harder to talk about. if nobody’s taking iasip way too seriously, i am DEAD!

starshade is also just a great protagonist, you can really feel her fear and her “oh shit everything is going wrong” mindset clashing with the “now is NOT the time to be horny” is funny every single time. i also really like how her power usage is represented in the text!! i caught on to what it was—

i was genuinely moved by how well not-slate’s transition was done, that her power had to be awakened by her accepting her identity and the ample foreshadowing for that moment that makes the reader go “oh i can’t WAIT for her egg to crack” and then it does and the payoff is GREAT

id love to share them with you! it might take me a bit to get through my thoughts while i run around getting ready for work but in general, i was very attached to both the main characters by the end. they’re so different and both so relatable at the same time, and their relationship is just—10/10
