I do this often. I blame it on learning another language - my head is full.

Any interaction outside the task at hand, no matter if it is email, or a simple search , eventually ends up with me looking at some series of stupid videos. I'm always distracted by shiny objects - just like my cats.

I have a half-marathon this weekend and haven’t run in 6 weeks. I don’t think it will be as fun as originally hoped.

Twenty-seven years ago Tuesday the 921 earthquake left more than 2,400 people dead and 100,000 without homes. A whole mountain and town disappeared, if I remember correctly. I’ll never forget the sounds and the absolute helplessness.

I sometimes attend zoom workshops for the book recommendations and the ability to be present with someone explaining their craft. There are so few other ways to interact professionally or socially these days.

Canada's access to the EU's single market would have unfathomable ramifications. Canadian consumers would gain Europe's unrivaled privacy and consumer laws, w/ GDPR compliance becoming required in Canada. A huge w for rules-based international order, which the US blatantly disregards. This is HUGE.

Is this a scene from an upcoming Marvel movie and the multiverse? A deranged corner of the Marvel Multiverse where contradictions are facts and reality is whatever he needs it to be.

The Fall Flavours Festival seems nice I guess, but I just can't imagine paying $165 for a meal at Bogside - home of salty pizza and chicken fingers - while siting at long picnic tables. They will do well, but Island events sure seem overpriced to me.

"So while the temptation to use this shit is understandable, the price is too high. Eventually your LLM will write your child a note and their LLM will write a reply and neither of you will actually know each other’s voices. Neither of you will know what is actually in each others’ hearts. "

In the spring I hung a bird feeder full of feed at the back of our property. A week later it was gone. I figured some racoons had knocked it down and that it would reappear in the winter when it was easier to see. Today I found it - in my neighbours backyard. He stole it.

Up too early to enjoy the sounds of the outside - sometimes Mr. Skunk hasn’t finished feeding and the last thing I want is to scare a skunk. It’s quiet, the only sound I hear is the loud ringing in my ears, the heat pump and the occasional complaint from momma cat.
