My boy loves the ones from Wienerschnitzel so much he buys cans of their chili so we can make them at home

I've seen it done with volkswagon bugs several times and also with a kei truck a time or two. Youtube has some great vids showing it done and the sound is just so cool. It's like having a turbine engine under the hood/seat.

looks like some of the more rural counties will allow them as "side by side ATV's", but the closer you get to the big cities the less likely that is going to happen

Welcome on in! I started the kei trucks north america feed as a passion project since there wasn't one focused on this area that I saw. It's slowly growing, but we do have several folks tagging in fairly regular each week. I have the crawler scanning for #keitrucks, #keivans, and #bongotrucks

We don't uniform rules on the use of kei trucks in the USA. It's best if folks know which state you are moving to in order to assist #keitrucks #keitrucksNA

oh not mad, sorry... just forgot the number. My bad. That's quite an impressive load of hay for sure

100

Kei Trucks North America 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ @keitrucksna.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

define "full load".... because if a truck is loaded to capacity that is, by definition, a full load.

100

Kei Trucks North America 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ @keitrucksna.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

capacity is smaller yes. Different trucks for different use cases, but saying someone shouldn't have a little truck just because they're not hauling loads of hay seems a lil daft

100

Kei Trucks North America 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ @keitrucksna.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

My idea of a big truck has 18 wheels and a trailer, but that's because I hauled fuel for years... Good times I tell ya!

not sayin you're wrong about a big ole truck. We'd load up my uncle's Cheyenne too

I think a lot of folks just love that cabover style the kei trucks have. If we added the modern safety upgrades to retromodern cabover trucks from the 1960's I think we'd have a winning combination in the North American market. Reimagined Econoline truck for reference #keitrucksNA #bongotrucks

Kei Trucks North America 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ @keitrucksna.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

Also most times that i've helped haul hay, my uncle was pullin a hay trailer around and we were stackin it high as we could and still get under the train tunnel hehe. You right though. An 8 foot bed is a heck of a thing that's hard to find these days in an average truck

100

Kei Trucks North America 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ @keitrucksna.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

My point is that a lot of folks need trucks for odd size things...not just a fridge. I could make a killing with a kei truck just hauling Facebook Marketplace finds for folks here in LA that don't have a truck.

100

Kei Trucks North America 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ @keitrucksna.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

A Suzuki Carry has the same size bed as the current model F150. It's honestly a perfect little truck for most urban and farm use cases. As far as carrying hay it can handle a small round bale with the sides on or you can remove the sides to stack up some square bales. #keitrucksNA

If your heart is set on a Toyota cabover in the North America Market look at their Hino 155 as it's about the same size as the ToyoAce.

It may sound odd being that I love a yellow truck, but I really love a green desktop. This is my Linux Mint Debian Edition look.
