Ram Rod is a reminder of brewing times past. The Ram was kept at Young's brewery in Wandsworth. Currently on sale at Home Bargains for a very low price. Label says Carlsberg brewed it at Bedford. They didn't. Its short dated-Nov 26-so they are offloading it

Not much to be said about Greene King's acquisition of Morlands except they got Old Speckled Hen. Noting that tradition is invented they blended it with their 5X 12% stock ale to produce Old Crafty Hen 6.5%. Whether it will survive the sale to Damm in Bedford...

Kernel & Newbarns collab. London Black lager first brewed in 1930. The name references Austrian dictator Haynau who in Sept 1850 was chased along the Thames Bankside by workers at the Barclay & Perkins brewery
