Ah. Now there's still love there. Otherwise you wouldn't have bothered to moisten your quill with such conflicting inks. Black. Bible black. With tartan spots. What's he saying now?

Geordie. ES 295. Ace. Scotty Moore (I saw him). Roddy got one. Johnny got one. Great guitars. I love Jimmy Page's playing, and the low LP is a huge part of the visual appeal. The swagger. The show. Conversely, I love The Beatles, but John's little Ric, up under his chin almost...oh no, no.

Yeah. No R.E.M. in mine. No Zeppelin. No New Order. So that's a bit off. But I went for up to 16. Only Hunky Dory was a bit later.

The only gig we ever left was The Psychedelic Furs. '87 or '88. We all really liked the early records, but hadn't kept up with what they were doing. It was rubbish.

I couldn't identify a Biffy Clyro tune. There was a red Strat of theirs in the Rip It Up exhibition. That was pretty good.

I was looking forward to see what you would go for. Bowie obviously. But I thought Let's Dance would be the one. One Step Beyond will be having a sulk and a lager and lime.

New issue of Popeye is on Polo Ralph Lauren. If you're in the US, you can find Popeye (and other Japanese menswear magazines) at Kinokuniya. Note that most of them are in Japanese text.

Pete is the greatest on the acoustic. I read an interview with him where he said that Keith heard Substitute on the radio and got upset because they had got another drummer in. He couldn't remember the session. True? Or Bluff?

I've never been a member of any political party. I couldn't. You have to agree with everything don't you? There will always be areas where you can't agree. Then what? Aggressive debate and split. Any party members here?

There are guitar parts on that record that I decided not to work out, because it breaks the spell. So the Black Sea spell remains intact.

Ms Knowles sounds pretty cool. Our Mrs. Speed was of a much older school.

Interesting though. It's all the jazz chords that she, and Ben got into. So more Frank than Pete. But, Another Bridge... That would be pretty good with the Buzzcocks guitars.

Yeah. Pop records are the best education. I mean, yeah, you'll pick up a bit of Shakespeare, or Orwell, or Brecht when you go to school, but your records are it. We all got a bit fancy in our 30s, but you come back to who you are. Or something...🙂

I saw Meatloaf. Aberdeen Capitol. Girlfriend at the time loved him. Silly. It was alright.

My dad's Corries and Clancy Brothers records, and C&W had a lot to do with what I got into. My mum's Judy Garland and Glenn Miller records, not so much. But I love all of that too. It all rubbed off in some way.

Cheers. There are plenty of significant records that aren't there, but I've chosen those without thinking about it, and those are the foundations. Like, The Beatles led to all the other 60s stuff. And they are almost all from before I was 16. Formative.

Oh, 1969 is definitely the 70s in pop records.

I think that's roughly the order they went in. The Elvis one is really 40 Golden Greats, but that wasn't there.

The mill is famous for producing the Rebel grey uniforms of the Confederate forces during the Civil war, and then the dark overcoats of the Moscow Politburo and KGB. I'm not into any of that. I just like the coats.

I paid little attention to the last World Cup. The U.S.A. politics soured it all. Politics will sour the Man.City situation.

Would the Epiphone not do it? Did you see, Johnny's black Ric went for £358,000? A lot of money for a guitar. But around half of Erling's weekly wage. Er...?

In The Spectator? I think these guys must make a point of writing the most obnoxious drivel they can think of, just to have a laugh about it over drinks in the club later. That can't be a serious economic stance. Unless he is actually an idiot...
