In any case, Hoekstra said it’s unwise for Canadians to count on getting a better deal after the mid-terms or when Trump leaves office in just over two years, noting that Democrats were much more supportive of tariffs than the Republicans before Trump’s presidency.

“If you’re going to wait till 2028 and say there’s going to be a Democrat running on an agenda that says we’re going to get rid of tariffs, I don’t know about that,” he said.

Those comments come a day after Gavin Newsom, the governor of California and frontrunner for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, refused to commit to rescinding the Trump tariffs during a series of interviews with Canadian news networks.

I thought the "no french" thing was bogus. America literally tried to tell our pm to stop QUEBEC from printing french labels. The place that wanted to split from Canada for not being "french enough" This would have torn canada apart even more. Everything they do is to destabilize us.
