Women's Pro Baseball League
@wpbl_official

Introducing: the WPBL Championship Cup.

Made of pure sterling silver and manufactured in 1920 - the same year the 19th Amendment was ratified, securing women the right to vote - the WPBL Championship Cup unites the past, present, and future of women’s baseball.

Cups like this were used as baseball awards throughout the early 20th century, but this one is special. Its minimal design is timeless, and unlike a typical two-handled cup, this one has three - an incredibly rare feature.

Three strikes, one at bat.
Three bases, one home plate.
Three handles, one cup.

The three handles of our Championship Cup represent the past, present, and future of women’s baseball, honoring the three primary baseball leagues in which women have played professionally: the AAGBPL, the Negro Leagues, and now, the WPBL.

This cup represents all women - whether it be 1920 or 2026 - who have fought, and continue to fight, for a more equitable future.

Every champion who lifts this cup will become part of both baseball and women’s history: adding their names to a story that began long before the WPBL. One that is still being written.

PROTECT THE NUB www.protectthenub.com #BrittanyApgar #ProtectTheNub
Screenshot from the Protect the Nub website of a message from Brittany Apgar that reads:
"Welcome to the Nub Club

Hey, you made it!

Welcome to Protect the Nub.

Whether you came for the baseball, the merch, or just wanted to see what this whole Protect the Nub thing is about, I’m really glad you’re here.

What started as a little idea, a little bit of chaos, and a whole lot of baseball has turned into something so much bigger than I ever imagined. And now, you’re officially part of it.

Every piece of merch here represents more than just a shirt or a hat. It’s a reminder to embrace what makes you different, take up space, and never let anyone tell you there’s only one way to play the game.

So grab some merch, rep the nub, and remember:

Different doesn’t mean less. It just means you play the game your own way.

Thanks for being here, supporting women’s baseball, and joining me for the ride.

Welcome to the Nub Club.
— Brittany"

Two printed baseball scorecards, one above the other, fully filled out in pen for a September 2, 2026 WPBL game between the San Francisco Firebells and Boston Hunters. A pitching stats table and a scoring-key legend (abbreviations like BB, K, GO, DP, and fielding position numbers) run along the bottom.

Intentional Drop Rule #wpbl en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infield...
Intentional drop rule:
A related rule called the intentional drop rule[15] applies even when second base is unoccupied (so long as first-base is occupied), and applies even when the batted ball is a line drive or a bunt that could be caught on the fly. This rule likewise prevents a fielder from deliberately dropping a ball and thereby achieving a double or triple play. If an umpire invokes this rule, the drop is ruled a catch, the ball is dead, and no baserunner may advance. The rule is not invoked when a fielder plays a ball on a bounce that might have been caught on the fly, or a fielder lets the ball fall to the ground without catching the palm of the mitt, or, in the judgment of the umpire, the ball was mishandled and not cleanly caught.
