“And Jacob served seven years for Rachel, but in his eyes they were like just a few days because of his love for her.” Genesis 29:20
Screenshot of a screenplay page from Interstellar (2014). Dialogue reads:
BRAND: “I am. So listen to me when I tell you that love isn’t something we invented — it’s observable, powerful. Why shouldn’t it mean something?”
COOPER: “It means social utility — child rearing, social bonding —”
BRAND: “We love people who’ve died… where’s the social utility in that? Maybe it means more — something we can’t understand, yet. Maybe it’s some evidence, some artifact of higher dimensions that we can’t consciously perceive. I’m drawn across the universe to someone I haven’t seen for a decade, who I know is probably dead. Love is the one thing we’re capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space. Maybe we should trust that, even if we can’t yet understand it.”

I don't think I've ever seen so much light bouncing through this building, can't wait till they finish the renovations.
Light from the setting sun bounces through the windows of the iconic 100 North Main building in downtown Memphis, the city's tallest skyscraper.

Humorous image comparing a tornado watch to a tornado warning using cupcakes. On the left, labeled 'Cupcake Watch,' are separate ingredients like butter, flour, sugar, and eggs—everything needed to make a cupcake, but not yet combined. On the right, labeled 'Cupcake Warning,' is a fully baked and iced cupcake, symbolizing that the 'cupcake' is now real and present. The image is often shared online to help explain the difference between a tornado watch and a tornado warning in a lighthearted way. Shared in the context of an active tornado watch in Memphis, Tennessee.

The only thing AI is good for:
Newspaper clipping-style image with the headline, "US Man Attempts to Deep-Fry Entire Thanksgiving Turkey in Kiddie Pool, Sparks Neighborhood Block Party." The story reads, "Boise, ID — A US man has taken the American love of deep-fried turkey to uncharted territory. Determined to feed his entire extended family and more, 34-year-old Brian “Big Fry” Daniels decided to deep-fry a 50-pound turkey in a kiddie pool filled with peanut oil in his backyard.
Using a propane torch and several cases of beer as motivation, Daniels successfully heated the oil to a dangerously bubbling state. When asked about his method, Daniels explained, “The pool seemed like the most American option—bigger, better, and a potential fire hazard.”
The oil, predictably, overflowed and sparked a small but manageable fire in the backyard. Rather than panic, the neighborhood rallied, turning the fiasco into an impromptu block party. Neighbors brought marshmallows to toast over the flames, while others showed up with sides and desserts to share.
Though the turkey was charred beyond recognition, the camaraderie shone brightly. Daniels shrugged off criticism, stating, “Sure, the turkey’s toast, but this party’s a win for America.”

Local authorities arrived on the scene but decided not to intervene, reportedly leaving with plates of sides and slices of pecan pie.

Daniels is now crowdfunding for a second attempt next year, promising to “go bigger with a hot tub.”

This wild tale brought to you by AI.

I am torn between pushing this idea further, especially if it can be used to bring awareness to the suffering that drives that behavior in people we care about, or just posting a photo of Marvin.
Marvin, the depressed android from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005), stands in a dimly lit hall with his oversized spherical head and drooping posture conveying his perpetual gloom. The scene captures Marvin’s trademark blend of melancholy and sarcasm, underscoring his iconic personality as voiced by Alan Rickman.

same, all I could picture was this, which AI got right on the first try #Memphis #BBQ
An image depicting a humorous combination of technology and BBQ culture: a computer server rack with a rack of barbecued ribs placed inside one of the slots, as if it were a piece of server equipment. The ribs are glazed with barbecue sauce, slightly charred, and steaming to give the impression of being freshly cooked. The server rack is set in a professional data center environment with blinking indicator lights on the other equipment. This playful image responds to Jeff Geerling's post, 'Does anyone make a single outlet 1U half-rack UPS? Or a little thin UPS that would fit in 1U of half-rack space?' and the follow-up prompt, 'Can you generate a photo of a rack of ribs in a computer server rack?'"

Just stumbled across this testimony on Dr. Peter Attia's Outlive book. I was wondering how to get him as my doctor, and...I have stopped wondering.
Testimony from Hugh Jackman: "Dr. Peter Attia is my doctor and also my friend. He is a specialist in longevity and someone I trust with my life. What separates him from others is his pursuit of quality of life from all angles—physical, emotional, mental, relational, and spiritual health. This incredible book is a call to action and a reminder to always participate and never be passive. It will arm you with the tools you need to live a long, meaningful, and fulfilling life."
