First Alastor attempt deemed a failure. He’s too tall and blocked off by too much swamp, and the translucent filament doesn’t work, you can see too much through him. Alastor 2.0 in progress.

I finally got my Alastor Nendoroid! He was supposed to come with some extras but the special base was missing. Good Smiles was quick to fix that and the base is on its way! I did get the extra item though and mine was a giant spoon. 🤣 Eat your heart out, or let Alastor do it for you!

I saw this note in a post about Do Not Play Around In the Bogs. Made me think of a very young Alastor playing in the bayou and getting lost. His mother searches frantically for him, finds him hours later and brings him home, but the child who looks so much like her Alastor no longer has him inside.

Lucifer was all about helping his daughter wherever he could. If he could, look, there were rules in the universe Charlie didn’t know about and wasn’t bound by, okay, he did the best he would with what he had, and if Charlie wanted him to stay, or go, from the hotel, he’d do as she asked and try to keep any pleading at a minimum.

He’d come to terms with her dream, even hoped for it to succeed, what more could he do there? He wasn’t sure, not yet. What he didn’t like was the people Charlie had surrounded herself with. Not the sinners staying at the hotel, not that Lucifer really liked them much but that was inevitable price of having guests at the hotel.

No, the hotel staff was the question, particularly the asshole in red, but from what Lucifer had been able to glean, only her girlfriend was actually on the hotel payroll. The other two, the bartender and the maid, worked for Bambi and that, Lucifer did not like. If things ever got out hand, it wouldn’t even be three on three, since Lucifer wouldn’t be able to do much except watch, and the bitch of it was, everyone knew now.

Sloppy with his secrets, fuck that guy, him and his fake smile, what did he know, anyway? He hadn’t been there ten thousand years ago when Lucifer first hit the dirt, had he? Fuck, no! He’d kept it a secret for millennia, one fuck up on all that time wasn’t sloppy!

That was a mental grumble Lucifer had at least once a day and as he was taking his morning stroll around the hotel it popped up again, a daisy spouting on the grave of his dignity no matter how many times he pulled it and—

Lucifer paused, brow furrowing as he listened. Someone was arguing around the corner and he recognized those voices; the bartender and the bellhop, one voice raised and the other just fucking annoying.

Eavesdropping was rude but let’s not pretend manners were going to keep him from checking up on anything that might affect his daughter.

He peeked around the corner, careful to keep out of sight. Okay, only the kitty was arguing, the red guy was standing there with that stupid smile on his face that somehow managed to convey impatience.

“You could let me try!” Cat-Man-Do was arguing, “If I take him down, then—”

“Then what?” the asshole interrupted. “You’ll be able to free the little whore?”

Lucifer bristled immediately, he might not be able to slap a bitch but let’s see how much this guy was smiling when he was neck-deep in rubber ducks.

Before he could step in, cat guy took his own offense, gritting out, “His name is Angel.”

Oh. He wasn’t somehow insulting Charlie, that was the other guy, pink guy, whatshisname, Angle-something. Come to think of it, Lucifer hadn’t seen him around lately, must’ve taken off, gone somewhere else?

“Ah, far be it from me to dismiss the importance of names,” the red guy said. He shook his head and his stupid hair swung around his face. “Don’t be absurd, Husker, even if I did grant your frankly ridiculous request, you’d lose. You couldn’t best Valentino at your strongest, you certainly can’t manage now and I’m not one for tossing out my assets.” He blinked slowly and now he was the cat, assessing a mouse, and his grin was sharp, the kind of knife that you barely felt the cut before blood began to ooze. “You know that, don’t you, dear.”

That was sounding like wherever Angle went it wasn’t really his choice. That sucked, it did, but that was Hell and there wasn’t much anyone could do about it. Was there?

Bambi tapped cat guy —Busker?— under the chin with his ugly microphone and the frustration and anger on that feline face crumpled into desperation. He snarled out, “Then you do it!”

One slender brow rose and Alastor, (so irritating that his name stuck in Lucifer’s memory, like a wad of chewing gum in your hair) leaned down far too much into the other demon’s personal space. The tip of his tongue flicked out over his teeth as he said. “Oh?”

“Yeah!” Maybe-it-was-Tusker said, recklessly, “Aren’t you pissed that Valentino tried to take on heaven and fuck us all over?”

Alastor straightened and waved that off with a dismissive flick of wrist, all idle disregard. “That affair had nothing to do with me. My disagreement was with Vox.”

Disbelief was starting to dominate over frustration for cat man. “But he attacked you, too!”
