It’s genuinely not possible to lose as a Pattinson acolyte. I will keep spreading the good word about the best working actor, and reaping my reward in the form of banger film after banger performance after hilarious press tour.

It’s insane that the best, most honest and thorough discussion about Drake’s three albums was had by two white men on the NYT’s podcast “Popcast.”

If Dune: Part Three hits how it looks like it’s going to hit, we are going to have to start having uncomfortable conversations about a lot of your guys’ favorite trilogies. No one is safe. Not Batman, LOTR, Toy Story, the Man with No Name, Dune is coming for all of ‘em…

I still don’t quite get why anyone would leave their post as one of the 100 most powerful positions in Congress to be a cabinet member. That’s obviously a very risky gamble with this administration, but has it ever definitively bettered anyone’s political future ever in the history of this country?

100% correct, but the idea of Trump studying anything is hilarious. He is a creature of the present; can’t imagine him reflecting on the past or thinking about the future

What is the matter with the elites in this country? We’re not even at the primary and they’re calling for people to step down in the name of the party. Let them duke it out so we can have the best candidate. They’re complaining about too much democracy and we wonder why things are so shitty now

Illegality aside, it’s wild how their answer to (unwarranted) beef with local governments is to just punish and kill that particular municipality’s citizens (also their citizens but they don’t care). This is just accepted by “conservatives” as how things should work. Big government who?

“Political theatre” is only bad if what you want to do is bad. Bringing a victim of a crime by an immigrant to push your Nazi agenda? Awful. Bringing a gun violence victim to argue for gun control? Good (if unfortunate that’s how people listen). So more theatre please, it’s nothing to be ashamed of

Yeah I see how you might take it that way and I see how other people might see not doing that as a missed opportunity because requires very little effort on his part. Everyone is entitled to how they feel about the situation on both sides. Again I mostly think it’s an unfortunate situation

It’s less about assigning responsibility and more about showing the people that you hurt that you regret what you said, even though you couldn’t possibly stop it. I genuinely think we’re making too big of a deal out of the words, “I’m sorry” or whatever version of that sentiment he might choose

If you had a physical tic that made you kick someone it would be much more obvious that when you do so you should acknowledge the impact it had on the other person. It wasn’t a choice, but it was an action that was taken by your person so the least you can do is apologize for the harm
100 1
Keary Walker @kearyw.bsky.social · 24/02/2026
I just don’t see it as ableism to ask someone to apologize to those they harm whether intentional or not. I don’t agree with people saying he shouldn’t go anywhere due to his tics. The ideal version of this would be the slur was bleeped and he would just simply say sorry to MBJ and Delroy Lindo
100 1
Keary Walker @kearyw.bsky.social · 24/02/2026
I agree. It’s fully up to him to apologize or not. It’s also up to him (and all the people defending him) to accept how people view that decision. Just like any other decision anyone makes in life, some people will like it, some people won’t
100 1
Keary Walker @kearyw.bsky.social · 24/02/2026
He chose to say he was “mortified” at the thought of anyone thinking he meant the slur, but he chose not to apologize to those that were the victims of his involuntary words. Saying sorry is not an admission of intention. It’s mostly a shitty situation and no one is thinking of MBJ or Delroy Lindo

Keary Walker @kearyw.bsky.social · 24/02/2026
The infantilizing part is taking away any ability for him to speak for himself. He can choose to apologize for unintentionally slurring two Black men. It’s not his fault, but it is unfortunately his responsibility to own his actions and how they affect others, whether intentional or not.

Netflix trying to own and profit from celebrities’ “last words” in a reoccurring way like this show is doing is borderline evil. At least when a doc is made it feels like it was done with intention and isn’t just a part of massive stockpile of… content

You’re not wrong about how many Black and Brown countries view us but that doesn’t in any way take away from the president creating a rift between our closest allies. Dunking on a liberal for saying “Isn’t it crazy that our European allies are taking a defensive military posture against us?” is dumb
