If you aren't using the new insiders build, you are missing out:

. @vscode.dev What happened here, I find it super hard to find the commands I actually want to click on this. 5 ways to split, probably unneeded?

Did a thing over the weekend, surrounded by friends and family.
Just married couple, with husband's back facing the camera, looking sideways towards his bride. The bride facing sideways, looking over her shoulder towards the camera.

If you ever hit this sort of thing, just throw in a en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero-wi... and no one will ever know.

Sick burn @blueskyroast.bsky.social, I think I'm going to put this on my profile page.

If you have 17.12 Preview or later (and now 17.12 GA), you will not.

So if you you have 17.11 or earlier, you will see the spinning donut 10 seconds.

Attached is what I saw, can you see it? The background of the pointer was being changed to what we aptly call a "spinning donut" internally. 2013 did not do this, so my brain was instinctively waiting for that before I felt the IDE was done and therefore increasing "my perceived" startup time.
The Visual Studio 17.11 window showing the pointer with a background "spinning donut" cursor.

Them: Use memory-safe languages, you'll be free from a certain class of bugs. My JavaScript website running in Chrome:
Chrome showing a HRESULT about an access violation, something typically only seen in native languages.

This is very likely caused by Chrome itself (or something native its talking in the OS), and not the web site, but was an amusing enounter.

These black Friday deals are amazing, anyone want me to them up a bottle (or two) at LAX duty-free?
$65,500 bottle of whiskey reduced to $52,000.

Visual Studio 2022's splash screen shows up approx. 100ms later than Visual Studio 2013 manually testing it. This was confusing to me after I traced it, as relative to their main method entry point, they both take about the same amount of time to render and show the window. What was going on?

I confirmed I was sitting at a window seat with the agent when I checked in, but I'm sitting here thinking that it's probably my fault that I specifically didn't ask for one with an **actual** window. My view for this flight.
