No it's not an AI generated image. It's the platform at Streatham Common Station. A car crashed through the wall. Get the impression from my wife, who witnessed it, that there was nobody at the station to report it to.

Congratulations to all newly elected and returning councillors. @LambethGP @LambethLabour @LambethLibDems We have an opportunity in Lambeth to show that constructive local politics can work. Let’s make it so. 🙏

Here, in the harsh urban landscape of the Oval Triangle, we see evidence of the Common Litter Bug. Unlike most creatures, it leaves colourful wrappings and bottles to mark its territory before slipping silently into the nearest shop for more. Happy 100th Sir David Attenborough

Congratulations to @Lambethgp Jacqueline on getting elected in Vauxhall. I would pay to watch her go into SIS/MI6 building and introduce herself. 'My name is Bond. Jacqueline Bond. Your new councillor.'

Looks like a real cliff hanger in Lambeth. Counting resumes at 10am today. What ever the final results, a big thankyou to all candidates, supporters and council officers for making this happen. And to @brixtonbuzz for the live commentary.

One day to go to my 24 hour swim for Level Water charity. Here's me doing a 'kit check' for the event. What would you bring with you? 24 one mile swims need a bit more than just swim goggles and a costume. youtu.be/ojanq7RLms4?... Please donate if you can www.justgiving.com/page/michael...

Next weekend I'll be doing a 24-hour swim – one mile, every hour for Level Water, a charity that helps disabled children to swim. This is a really hard challenge for anyone, never mind someone in their 70s. Please support if you can. Thanks www.justgiving.com/page/michael...

I think the signalling may prove to be a dead give away for driverless cars. There was something about the timing - almost perfect - definitely not human.

Couldn't see. As they haven't been licensed for public use in London yet, I would imagine this was just a test drive presumably with an observer/driver.

Well that's a first for me. Saw a Waymo driverless car today on Camberwell New Road. Knew it was driverless because it stuck to the speed limit, signalled properly and overtook a cyclist safely.

Just a gentle reminder, if you live in the Kennington Oval Vauxhall area please vote in the Neighbourhood Plan referendum tomorrow (Thursday). Here's a summary of the five main policies. Turnout matters.

Well you can tell this is US software asking a question about St Thomas' Hospital A&E 'Is this place cash-only?' How should I answer? Stop wasting my f****** time is not an option.
Google question asking whether St Thomas' A&E is cash only. Obviously they don't understand the concept of an NHS.

Fractured my 5th metatarsal on an easy run yesterday. Was due to do Hyrox London on Thursday. No chance now. 😪 Have to say, was very impressed with St Thomas' emergency service. Was there and back in under 3 hours. Full marks #NHS

Last time I was in a job centre you just picked up a card from jobs board, went to a member of staff and applied for the job. These days there seem a lot more staff. Alas they only now help people of working age, not pensioners. Was told to try the internet. Oddly enough, I had heard of that. 🙄

Mirror stolen the other night. Apparently that's a new trend. £350 to replace. Not looking for sympathy but that's a lot for a pensioner. I'm 70 and find myself having to look for part time work. Am getting qualified as a Domestic Energy Assessor - the people who do Energy Performance Certificates

The end of post boxes as we know them? An automated system is on its way apparently. Asked in Kennington Park Post Office what was happening. They didn't know. Post boxes are Royal Mail responsibility. Maybe it's this www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... but let's all stay in our silos. 🙄

Interesting. Getting e-mails from people I don't know who, for one reason or another, can't speak. Alas I would respond but my e-mail reply button is suffering from seasonal scam disorder.

Have to say this front page from @theobserveruk.bsky.social is the best I've seen by a country mile. The perfect blend of British humour and a serious subject. About time we ended political interference in the BBC.

Lots of vivid autumn colours this year. Was at Herne Hill velodrome this morning. Coach had to sweep the leaves off the track so we didn't slip off. 😱

Spotted this interesting [Sergent?] cherry street tree in #Lambeth I like the way that heavy pruning has left what looks like a sleeve of old bark surrounding a younger tree.

Had a nice club swim session at Clapham Manor this morning. Have only just noticed that where we park bikes is called Bicycle Mews. Reckon I could think of a few apt names for other streets in London. Litter Lane would be the most common.

Was in B&Q today. The lady in front of me spent a lot and got a £5 voucher. She gave it to me. A random act of kindness. As it happens, I also spent a lot of money and gave my £5 voucher to the person behind me. There is enough trouble in the world. Let's try to be kinder to one another.

This is the Oval Triangle opposite the Oval station #Lambeth It's supposed to be cleaned once per week. Somehow I don't think so. Spent about an hour removing most of the litter. Highlight was a bottle of Bollinger. Alas it was empty. Also started a collection of discarded cycle wands. #TfL

If you believe everything you read best not read. Asked a simple question, the area of Burrator reservoir. Google AI starts off by confusing 1 sq km (1,000,000 sq m) as being equivalent to 1 hectare (10,000 sq m). Goes on to give a more sensible answer 0.564 sq km.
