finished a sketchbook today and noticed that most of my pages look like this. mindlessly drawing a mess of line helps a lot when you can’t quite pinpoint the right composition or overall idea of a piece so u just..doodle. until the shapes start to come together (and somehow they always do)

my middle school art courses teacher used to always tell me „don’t nitpick it and don’t be afraid to work on a full picture rather than focusing on a small part and overdoing it“ can’t believe it’s been like a decade and i still struggle with it

i also need to stop trying to make it clean! i love how uneven line art and weird shapes look in other ppls art but when it comes to me there’s always something nagging in my head about overdoing it and it ends up looking clean in a bad way. maybe working on paper without the undo button would help

big sigh i desperately need to figure out a way to draw backgrounds and architecture just right so it’s focused more on the outlines and shapes and not a thousand details that turn into a mess instead of an object/scenery

my scoliosis got what feels like ten times worse over the past two years due to constantly spending time hunched over my ipad and i’m trying really hard to fix my posture it but 10 minutes after i start drawing i just automatically turn back into a shrimp nggghhh how do ppl even sit straight 😭

aside from that, i got a new laptop!! i've managed to combine my savings w what i got for my bday as gifts and finally bought one! im so happy and excited and the first thing i noticed immediately is the screen resolution + colours quality..so crisp so fresh..i can format my stuff for printing now!
