If you read and aren't a fan of Goodreads, I highly recommend checking out Hardcover at hardcover.app - good website + mobile apps + tons of cool features. My fav is seeing which books other users and I have both rated 4+, super handy for finding someone with similar tastes to get ideas for my TBR.

My dad survived the Pentagon attack on 9/11. Before he died in Dec 2020, he wrote his military career biography - seriously, it’s a whole edited, bound production, this man loved his career in military public health. The following is his brief remembrance of the day.

Be a Laurie. I think Laurie is probably sleeping pretty dang well at night
As the flight neared final boarding, another ICE officer accused Laurie of interfering with the operation and pressed her to help locate the passenger. Laurie declined to say whether the woman was on the flight's passenger list and told the officer he would need to contact the airline's corporate security department for information. "You're going to need a subpoena," she said. No arrests were made at the gate that day.

The next day, the passenger called her.
She had made it home. And she was with her child.

There’s a really fun thread on the Dungeon Crawler Carl subreddit about creating a bingo card leading up to book 8’s release next week, I loved it so much I made a simple site to generate DCC bingo cards with ideas from the thread plus some of my own: dccbingo.lovable.app
A bingo card titled "DCC Bingo Card Generator" contains a 5x5 grid of squares, each with a different phrase related to the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. Some phrases include "Carl pulls a corpse into his inventory", "DONUT TYPES IN ALL CAPS", "There's a new Sluggalo with a funny name", "The view counter is buried to the right", and "Carl slams down on Protective Shell".
