Surely with all the advances in AI going on, Google Calendar could have "Dinner with the Speaker" not interpret "6 to 9" as "6 PM to 9 AM"? It would also be great if changing the AM to PM didn't then result in an assumed 27 h dinner.

To any Chemdraw professionals out there, I've had horrendously inconsistent issues with the 3D cleanup-then-flatten functions, where occasionally the object will be flattened into a weird gray/black color that refuses to turn back to standard black. Any solution?

There's something quite strange about inheriting rbfs containing advanced intermediates/natural products stored inside, and then cleaning the glassware with acetone since the container is much more valuable to us than the compounds themselves

How do benzene, toluene, and p-xylene all have the same kinetic diameters of ~5.8 A?

Best part of inheriting 10 Welch pumps – you just got 10 free Welch pumps! Worst part of inheriting 10 Welch pumps – you learn the depths to which previous people have completely neglected pump maintenance, and you get to see alarming colors of pump oil that are various shades of the rainbow

Does anyone know why this molecule is called mesityl oxide? It looks nothing like what I would expect, based on its name

Excited to share this work: science.org/doi/10.1126/... We showcase the rapid, reversible, and selective capture of CO2 at temperatures previously not demonstrated for any adsorbent, achieved through an insertion across a zinc–hydride bond to produce an isolable zinc–formate intermediate.

High-temperature carbon dioxide capture in a porous material with terminal zinc hydride sites
Carbon capture can mitigate point-source carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, but hurdles remain that impede the widespread adoption of amine-based technologies. Capturing CO2 at temperatures closer to tho...
