So AEW’s Women’s Division has had an….. Lets say interesting history to say the least. Since All Elite Wrestling became a reality in 2019, the promotion has struggled to build any…

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the wrestling world lost one of the most beloved performers and people with the sudden and tragic passing of Benjamin Satterly, better known to fans as Pac in AEW, Dr…

So to tell this correctly, I have to give some background. Back in March 1998, Blizzard Entertainment released its new sci-fi real-time strategy title StarCraft to become the third in what would become Blizzard's foundational trio franchises, including Diablo and WarCraft. The title dropped players into the conflict between three space-faring species engulfing the Koprulu Sector, a remote region of space far-removed from Earth.

At the end of 2023, All Elite Wrestling had been through the PR ringer and then some. The grand bet of CM Punk imploded twice in as public a manner as possible between 'Brawl Out' in 2022 and 'Brawl In' in 2023, leading to Punk's public firing. There was no shortage of other PR problems between fights getting out online and contract disputes spilling out into creative.

There's been a line thrown around All Elite Wrestling since Will Ospreay started with the promotion full time in 2024 - restore the feeling. It was a line associated with a rough time in AEW's short existence. The young promotion struggled through a parade of backstage problems spilling out into the public eye, most notably Punk's final year in AEW, along with a clear dip in the overall creative quality, something AEW President Tony Khan blamed on him booking shows "by committee" and trying to please everyone.

The 2026 edition of New Japan Pro-Wrestling's annual summer tournament has come and gone, delivering arguably the best G1 in the last few years. Nearly every show in the month-long tournament had at least one must-see match, with Yota Tsuji and Konosuke Takeshita taking part in several of these. It would ultimately come down to two names who found themselves in the finals for the first time - Ryohei Oiwa and Yuya Uemura.

July 2026 marked the 30th anniversary of WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 and the formation of the New World Order. The moment Hulk Hogan, a perennial babyface to that point, did his big leg-drop on 'Macho Man' Randy Savage is regarded as one of the most influential moments in professional wrestling history and helped kick off one of the biggest boom periods in the industry.

In July of 2003, a group of independent wrestlers pooled their resources into starting a new, wrestler-run indie in the fledgling South California wrestling scene. Pro Wrestling Guerrilla would run its first show in City of Industry, California, with an originally announced Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles main event becoming Frankie Kazarian vs. AJ Styles as a result of injuries and travel problems for Joe.

Forced celebrity involvement, unneeded breaking of the 4th wall, and uninspired, repetitive, and questionable storytelling. Is this describing WCW in the year 2000 or WWE in the year 2026, or both? The final calendar year of WCW's existence was a rough year for the company that only a few years earlier was on top of the wrestling world. It was even rumored the Ted Turner-owned promotion could be the one to kill Vince McMahon's WWF as the company struggled to find a new identity after the end of the 80's boom and failure of the New Generation.

It has been a rollercoaster year for both Xbox and PlayStation through July of 2026, to say the least. Both companies have experienced some pretty high-highs, especially off the backs of their respective June showcases. Between titles like God of War Laufey, Wolverine, Fable, and Gears of War: E-Day, there was plenty to get excited about to say the least.

When calendars turned over to 1992, the wrestling world was in unique state. WWF was still on top of the world but signs were starting to appear that a downturn was on the way. WCW was still struggling to establish an identity between a revolving door of bookers and mounting debt. And ECW was almost two months out from having its first show at Philadelphia's Viking Hall, known today as the 2300 Arena.

The year 2026 has been a very good for AEW. Their weekly TV has received regular praise for maintaining a consistent quality. Dynamite in 2026 has played host to major moments in AEW history, including two world title changes, while Collision continues to be the show for "the sickos" wanting two hours of some of the best and purest in-ring wrestling on TV.

It goes without saying that the first half of 2026 has been very kind to All Elite Wrestling. The seven-year-old promotion has been on one of the strongest runs of business since it began in 2019, with Dynamite and Collision regularly praised for their consistent quality. And while pay-per-views have typically performed well, 2026 has been particularly strong on that front, too, with Revolution in March, Double or Nothing in May, and Forbidden Door in June all being hailed as being among the best shows AEW has ever put on.

AEW Forbidden Door 2026 is in the history books as the promotion begins, in earnest, the summer-long march to All In at London's Wembley Stadium. The cross-promotional event, spearheaded by AEW, sat in an interesting part of the company's 2026 pay-per-view calendar. It was following Double or Nothing 2026, which was hailed by many fans and critics as possibly the best pay-per-view AEW has ever put on, but was still far enough away from All In that fans could tell the promotion wasn't really stepping on the gas when it came to the overall build to Wembley.

There is a common phrase used when an industry is seemingly revitalized off the back of a larger entity within said industry experiencing a boom - a rising tide raises all ships. In the professional wrestling sphere, the common consensus for years has been when WWE gets hot, the rest of the industry reaps just as much of the rewards as WWE.

It has been almost 30 years since the Attitude Era began in the then-WWF, helping to propel the biggest boom period for professional wrestling in history. Vince McMahon became the most hated heel figure in WWF opposite the beer-swilling, middle-finger throwing rattlesnake, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, who would become arguably the biggest star and babyface in WWF history. Surrounding them was a who's who of names including Mick Foley, The Rock, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Kane, Undertaker, The Hardys, and many more.

This won't be too long and, unlike my other posts, I will actively be speaking in the first person. To say 2026 has been an..... interesting year for a variety of reasons would be an understatement. Obviously a lot of it isn't good, with most of it tracking back to one person, but that is not what I am here to discuss.

In the modern pro wrestling landscape, there is no shortage of talented commentators across the world. WWE has veterans like Michael Cole who worked their way up from a backstage interviewer, AEW elevated Excalibur from indie sensation to national broadcaster, New Japan has given Walker Stewart the chance to showcase his abilities on commentary that belies his youth, and many more around the world.

Picture this. It is the end of a massive professional wrestling show and the seemingly unstoppable babyface has been left lying in the middle of the ring, with the top name in the promotion standing over them while the faction that was split appeared to come back together to see witness the babyface's defeat. Fans, in the meanwhile, are left to question what is happening and if the promotion is really going back to this well, again.

It is September of 2005 in a bedroom somewhere in the Havering borough of London, England. A young man struggling in school because of his ADHD and dyslexia puts on Sky Channel 429, also known as the Wrestling Channel, to watch a match that had taken the wrestling world by storm. It was Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe. vs AJ Styles for the X Division Championship in the main event of TNA Unbreakable 2005.

Since the start of 2026, it is safe to say AEW has been on the best run of shows since 2021 as the promotion marches into the Louis Armstrong Arena in Flushing, Queens, New York. The show is scheduled for May 24, with Kazuchika Okada vs. Konosuke Takeshita being the first match announced for the pay-per-view. As of May 7, FTR vs.

For almost 25 years, TNA Wrestling has managed to survive despite being such a snake-bit company from the very start. It began with the Jarretts almost shutting down NWA: TNA after only a few months due to dwindling finances before being saved by Panda Energy. From there, it would be a long series of ups and downs as TNA tried to find its footing on TV and bring in big name free agents like Sting, Kurt Angle, Booker T, Jeff Hardy, and others.

To say the last week of WWE PR has been chaotic would be a massive understatement. The reveal of Pat McAfee as the mystery caller to Randy Orton was met with a collective "huh?" from viewers in attendance and watching live on TV. His promo that followed only confused audiences further by bringing up things like the drop in WrestleMania ticket sales from 2025 and recent ratings low SmackDown had hit.

In the early 2010s, two breakout action films effectively reshaped modern action cinema seemingly overnight. The more recognized of the two is 2014's John Wick, starring Keanu Reeves in what became his major comeback film. Behind the camera was longtime stunt choreographer and first time feature director Chad Stahelski, who also served as Reeves stunt double for The Matrix, and Stahelski's 87Eleven partner David Leitch serving as a principle producer.

For wrestling fans, it goes without saying that WrestleMania season is one of the biggest times of the year for the industry. WWE is on the march to its tentpole annual event while plenty of other big events take places in the weeks and month before and after WrestleMania. AEW has their pay-per-views Revolution and Dynasty in that period, New Japan has shows like Wrestling Dontaku and the CMLL co-promoted Fantastica Mania tours in Mexico and Japan, and no shortage of big shows across the independents.

Across the long history of professional wrestling, there is no shortage of great shows and great matches to go back and watch. Fans can find some of the best from WWE, WCW, AEW, NWA, AWA, ECW, and so many more online fairly easily nowadays. There is no shortage of bad wrestling shows, either, for a variety of reasons. It could feature talent now known to be morally reprehensible, a snake-bitten show plagued by production issues, or just being outright boring are three of the many possible reasons for a bad show.

With two major national wrestling promotions again, it can't help but conjure up old memories of WCW and WWF in the mid- to late 90s. AEW and WWE don't go head-to-head on weekly TV anymore, but it has not made the perceived rivalry any less tense for fans and leadership in both companies. It all echoes WWF and WCW going back-and-forth with each other on Monday nights for fans' viewership and money.

The year 1999 was an interesting year for the professional wrestling industry. At the national level, WWF and WCW were still doing huge business, though that wasn't to say there were very obvious cracks. WWF would spend roughly half of the year with Vince Russo being the lead voice in creative under Vince McMahon, with WrestleMania 15 cited as one of the worst WrestleMania's in the show's history.

With season two of Netflix's live-action One Piece series right around the corner, fans have not even tried to hide their excitement at seeing the live action Straw Hats finally cross into the Grand Line. Season two already promises to hit the ground running with locales including Loguetown, Whiskey Peak, and Drum Island as the Straw Hats have their first run-ins with Baroque Works.

Let's turn the calendars back. It's 2016 at the American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, California. There are between 300 and 400 people packed shoulder-to-shoulder in this cramped, hot legion hall with little-to-no air conditioning at the end of the summer to witness one of the biggest annual tournaments on the independent wrestling scene - Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Battle of Los Angeles.

Coming out of April 2018, the then-Andrade 'Cien' Almas dropped the NXT Title to Aleister Black to close out a very strong in-ring reign and was main roster bound in WWE. He would be moved to SmackDown, have his name shortened to just Andrade, and remained fairly stagnant in WWE's midcard. The following years saw Andrade go thru a variety of professional and personal ups and downs from being released by WWE, signed by AEW, depart AEW for WWE after a drama-filled first tenure, rejoining his then-wife Charlotte Flair only to end up in the same spot he was before and the couple divorcing.

To say WrestleMania 13 isn't particularly memorable, on the whole, is a pretty fair statement. It is not on the lows of WreslteMania 9, 11, or 27, but there isn't much that stands out either. This is due to WrestleMania 13 being smack in the middle of the WWF's most important transitional periods as WrestleMania 14 the next year would cement the Attitude Era's arrival.

Since AEW President Tony Khan acquired Ring of Honor in March 2022, it hasn't always been clear what RoH means in the All Elite Wrestling ecosystem. It wasn't known if RoH could get back on TV after struggling in its final few years due to multiple talent raids, shrinking crowds, and COVID-19, all things which could damage a brand in some people's eyes.
