I think it's good to dissect art you like, finding that "how" is you finding the pieces of your artistic voice! Practice and experiment <3 As for perfectionism, it may be one of those things I think a lot of us have to learn how to manage for a lot of our journeys (myself included >u>;)

Oh, and by the same logic, don't try to force people to do things your way just because it works for you. Suggestions and tips are awesome, (I love sharing discoveries) but I've known some people who can be overbearing about people not doing things their way. Respect other people's journeys!

No way of doing things is truly better or worse, just beneficial or not to your priorities, and you can always dissect how you do things to improve based on your own criteria. Being unkind to yourself for not literally being another person will never help!

That's not to say you shouldn't experiment, but rather that self-knowledge is very important. I try different approaches to the steps themselves, rather than changing what steps I take, and sometimes it's a massive improvement! Value what works for you and don't let envy get the better of you!

I like to do a really messy initial sketch and then do a rough block in on top, I like to find my final image. In comparison some artists are practically transcribing exactly what's in their mind's eye. Sometimes it gives me imposter syndrome and I get all fussed, only to relearn to value my way.

Trying to copy the workflow of an artist whose figured out what works for them can easily back fire on you, because the steps you take are ones you've built up and compensate for how you think. Some people need more steps than others, and that's okay! The grass is always greener!

To the newer artists and anyone who needs to hear it, find what works for you and don't be worried that your workflow doesn't look like someone else's! Experiment and play around, but avoid value judgements when comparing yourself to others. You only cause yourself grief trying to be other people.
