Going through part 2 as Theodora and good god my team is awful. I don't have anyone that can take a hit on the Magic side or land reliable OHKOs on stronger enemies. Doubt many of the units will see any use in part 3.

Really bad place to truncate that title, Youtube.

Youtube video thumbnail/title. Title reads "Biboo Wants Moona as Her Mommy Until She Realises She's an Asian..."

Fortune's Weave Part 2 is an insane difficulty jump from part 1. Probably won't be as hard with my other 3 armies, but my Leda team was not very good in retrospect. "Let Mu handle it" is apparently not a viable strategy anymore.

Kaysou @kaysou.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

I think I might have recruited him in Theodora's path too, so I guess he'll be in the endgame roster, but he was a regular on my Leda team. Won't see any use in part 3, for sure.

Apparently lost a unit in part 2 without noticing and now I'm a few chapters late to save him. He was a strong unit in my Leda path so I briefly thought about going back, but it was Dadao, so I ultimately decided that it's okay that he's dead. RIP Bozo

I think Mu is also an issue, but I think she's a 9 or 10 renown recruit in Cai's route anyway. From what I understand, there are parts of Cai's map that are just locked off permanently, but I might be wrong.

Wasted a lot of resourced raising affinity with Halvin only to find out you literally can't get the item you need to recruit her. Neat.

Really regretting doing Cai's route last. Clearly meant as a tutorial route and being locked out of most of the map is brutal.

Just found out I live or have lived within like 15 miles of a relatively famous Yu-Gi-Oh content creator. Literally two towns over, the card store I used to shop at is over there. There's a non-zero chance he's been there. Wild.

Sega has betrayed their loyal fans. His name was "Sonic" and now in an act of spite, he's been renamed to "McLaren Racing". They've officially gone too fucking far. I will no longer be buying products in the "McLaren Racing The Hedgegog" series.

Most of my army in Dietrich's path are above Level 35 at the start of Chapter 10. I'm playing on Hard mode but I can send pretty much any unit into enemy fire without worrying. This path is dumb.

Kaysou @kaysou.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

That makes sense, yeah. But also, I just don't think I like the direction the story took. The religious aspects were fine before when the villain was a corrupt head priest, but now religious overtones and noble politics are just what the show is about. It was more fun when we weren't killing people.

Alright, with Bookworm ending the season on a low note, here's my Tier list for Summer 2026. Watched more than ever this season, but perhaps because of that, I was harsher than I would've otherwise been. Nothing really stuck out as an all-timer, just a lot of pretty good.

Anime Tier list:

9.5: Goodbye Lara, Shiboyugi Cloudy Beach, Polar Opposites S2
9: Jaadugar, Inept Villainess
8.5: Grow Up Show, Kaiju Girl, Supermarket Smoking, Sparks of Tomorrow, TaiAri, Draw This Then Die
8: All Works Maid, Love Unseen, Slime, 100 GFs, KimiShinu
7.5-7: Magilumiere 2, Hanaori-san, Bookworm, Victoria of Many Faces, Tenkosaki, Ogre's Bride, Cat and Dragon
6.5-5: Ibikona, Rich Girl Caretaker, Kimiai, Oblivious Saint, Forsaken Saintess
Dropped: Elusive Samurai 2, Livid Lady

I remember liking that Anime quite a bit, too. Obviously the production values weren't there, but I was definitely drawn to the story. Not much of a manga reader, but I might have to check that out.

Bookworm really fell off hard, the first few seasons were solid, but this was just incredibly boring. All the fun aspects of the series were stripped away. Maybe I just forgot how the first few seasons were, but seeing Myne just follow the Head Priest's orders as a cog in a theocracy wasn't fun.

It's been beaten to death by this point, but I had WEP as a 10/10 up until like episode 9 or 10. Then they drove the thing off a cliff with probably the worst possible ending they could have gone with, doing a 180 and saying "girls are just emotional, lol". I have it as a generous 6/10 now.

My music playlist just reminded me of Bakuon, the slice of life anime about girls driving motorcycles (not named Super Cub), where the main character has the world's fattest eyebrows and Jesus is a recurring character for some reason.

Hane Sakura from Bakuon, who looks like your standard Slice of Life Protagonist aside from her extremely bushy eyebrows.

Jesus, looking like a bum, riding a motorcyle and reading a magazine

Dietrich's path is really draining my will to keep playing. Leda and Theodora's paths felt like I had a lot of stuff to do in my free time, but for Dietrich it's just nonstop fighting, which is on-brand for the character, but gets boring quick.

010

Kaysou @kaysou.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Tentative 8/10 for this one for now, heavily dependent on what Season 2 gives us. As is, the pacing felt rushed and a lot was left unresolved, so as it's own thing I was a little disappointed, but Season 2 could easily fix that.

Season 2 was even better than Season 1 somehow. This is pretty much everything you could ask for from a RomCom, with three couples that all play well off of each other and feel very different from each other. It's hard to have much else to say because it's just really good at what it does.

A minor detail in Fortune's Weave that confused me playing Leda and Theodora's route first was "Why would anyone want a kiss from Raksha?" But I'm playing Dietrich's route and now it makes a lot more sense.

One Joke shows are almost wholly reliant on that singular joke being funny, and this one's really isn't beyond the first episode. It tries to keep things fresh with new characters being introduced regularly, but it all still comes back to that singular punchline that's run its course by Episode 2.
