Spinning progress- while I can and have fit an entire braid on a spindle, I remembered that I really didn’t want to do that. So! Continuing on my wheel and I’ll make a chain ply ball later

Today has very much been a #weaving day. Put my SampleIt loom together, got it warped and started weaving. Worked with my band weaving kit this morning after getting the warp ready last night. The key to both is going to be figuring out a comfortable spot to do it, I think.

A rigid hettle loom about the same width of the couch it’s sitting on, warped with white boucle yarn, the weft is the same. There’s about four or five inches of weaving done (I was weaving at the table, not there)

Friday night’s project is weaving with sticks, getting me in the mood for my package arriving Monday 😁😁😁

Six sticks that sort of resemble dpns, except only one end is pointed and the other is flat and has holes for the warp yarn that’s attached at the bottom. There’s a couple inches of weft on the sticks, both the warp and weft is white

Travel socks, mostly vanilla white socks with blue, green and gray speckles with a small gray and blue stripe separating sections

Very light yellow, maybe cream wool singles on a top whorl gear spindle- the Celtic one, but you can’t see the top from that angle

#showmeyourknits this week is socks, I post a lot of them here already, so here’s a few I haven’t. The gray ones are the first socks I made and the teal ones are the first ones I did with sock yarn, both around 2012. The second two I did around 2019/2020

I feel a lot more confident with the double knitting now, so I frogged back a bit and redid the first part in ribbing, I’m super excited with how this is going! 🧶

I immediately messed something up! No idea what, I redid the cast on this morning and got a whole needle finished and it does look like two separate pieces of fabric this time For the sake of my brain, these are going to have a rolled cuff, I am not ready to try ribbing like this

The sum of today’s crafting: almost done knitting the 15th dishcloth, got some spinning progress and a few rows of the cowl done (someday I’ll figure out a better background than my lap or the couch arm) 🧶

Crafting update: 7 of 20 dishcloths knitted, the second lace sock is to the toe, and I got 15ish minutes of spinning done while I waited for my food to heat up 🧶

The ply on the fly is a little slow going mostly because I have a lot of wips and I’ve been focused on the first two projects. I’ll probably try to see how much I can stuff on the spindle, it gets awkward by the end but I’ve managed a whole braid before

The one on my eel wheel I really need to finish up one of these days, I set it aside around Christmas and haven’t remembered to pull it out again, but I love the blue

Second is the corriedale, which is also very much a long term project. I plan on two plying that and using it for some card weaving hopefully. It’s coming out super thin, the yardage will be great but it will take forever, I started with 5.3 oz

I’ve also been wandering around with some spinning today when I needed to move and rounded up spinning projects to see where I’m at until it is yarn. First up is the skittles, which had a ways to go, that’s okay, it’s more of a long term project
