Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 13/09/202625 lbs. of tomatoes from 6 plants. Roman and beefsteak varieties. 030
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Behold: the largest carrot my garden has ever produced! I don't remember planting Imperator, but I must have because this isn't Chantenay or Danvers. 020
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Ah, that explains why mine always tasted funny; I was picking them too early (before red stage.) 010
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 18/07/2026Thanks for the reminder. I almost asked what varieties you had but it's all revealed in the alt text❤️ 010
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Oops, also roses growing through a wall at the beach. 000
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 11/07/2026My clients have about 3 feet of pure loam, so no good talking about them. I have clay here without the loam. I find my roses like a year round leaf mulch and a good top dressing of compost, not too near the base. I try to do organic, so I use a fish based bloom fertilizer (3-10-12) 010
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 11/07/2026I have Abraham Darby in a client's garden. Like this one,it's quite, quite gorgeous but just a touch more pink. 110
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 02/07/20261 second of the mist magnificent angels' fishing rod I've seen yet.( forgotten the Latin name, anyone know it?) 020

Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 19/04/2026A little surprise from last year's amaryllis bulb, which spent part of the summer outdoors in the garden. 030
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 03/04/2026Tree guy was probably itching to cut it down. Good thing you kept it.❤️ 110
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 24/03/2026Not the greatest pic, still a 'host of golden daffodils' naturalized in a park near my home. 020
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 12/03/2026Both. Actually, everything I can: vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruit and nut trees. Some are more challenging than others but I can't imagine not growing everything I have space and time for. 170
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 10/03/2026I learned that trying to turn a big veg garden all at once in the spring is not something my knees like. 110
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 08/03/2026I once had an indoor pineapple, grown from the top of grocery store purchase, produce a fruit like that. It stayed small but it was delicious! 010
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 27/02/2026Nice❤️ Have you grown pyracantha before? I think they have the worst thorns of all the berried bushes. A good long pair of leather gloves is often helpful. 110
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 18/02/2026It's probably important to note that this is available only in the US. 120
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 17/02/2026This year's amaryllis. Red Lion and Apple Blossom, I think. Not sure because I immediately lost the tags. 030
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 16/02/2026At least wearing them would keep you from stepping on their little brothers with bare feet. 000
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 16/02/2026So he's just filling a quota? I wondered what the point was...that makes sense. 140

Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 09/10/2025I think that's why Carney's investing in our military now and firming up NATO ties. 110
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 07/09/2025Largest carrot in the garden this year... so far. Looks like a chantenay. 030
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 07/08/2025Thanks, I thought it might be something to do with sugar processing but I wasn't sure. 010
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 02/08/2025Rats may not be a significant problem if you don't live in a port city or near a body of water. Also, if you have mild winters, the rats may not be motivated to come inside. We had a rat problem indoors and clearing foliage away from the house was one of the things the exterminator suggested. 010
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 28/07/2025Last third of potato harvest. I've been taking them early because last year, the rats borrowed under the straw and ate all the big ones. 040
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 05/07/2025My neighbour's clematis bloomed on my side of the fence this year! 050

Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 12/06/2025I really don't know but I hope you post again when it blooms! 030
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 11/06/2025Mushrooms are not a bad sign. They're the fruiting bodies of the mycelium network of roots that's actually beneficial to plants. You might want to expose the compost to air to dry out before use. 100

Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 13/05/2025I have the same horrible uncut grass in my yard but I don't have that iris. It's spectacular! ❤️ 010
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 12/05/2025Yes, looks like squirrels. Rabbits usually nip all the tops off and don't bother digging. 000
Kathy Cruzelle @kayjc57.bsky.social · 12/05/2025Bright indirect light ( not in the sun) and water it like an African violet (sparingly.) I usually kill mine with overwatering. 010
