I forget what this guy is, too, but he's got a big brother who was outside all summer and is absolutely massive now. I think I'm gonna see about repotting them both into an inverted planted so they drape, they get so long long man and I feel bad when the stalks lean and tumble.

Two thanksgiving cacti as well (I think thanksgiving and not Xmas? I'm never quite certain). Almost lost the first one to the lightless void that was my previous apartment, he's recovered wonderfully. The second one I stole cuttings from a shitty previous roommate and it blooms like mad every year.

Porthos also got a haircut to clean up his summer dreadlocks. He grew some vines with really nice variegation over the summer so we pulled some of the flat ones and replanted the variegated so he can grow ever more colorful. I've had this guy for more than ten years at this point.

Hi Branden, thanks for your correspondence.

The issue is that, for the third time in as many weeks, my internet just cut out randomly two nights ago at about 230am. As usual, when I went to check the outage map on the Xfinity website, I was informed that there were outages for all Xfinity services on account of "planned maintenance".

Let's be honest here, Branden, that's BS.

"Planned" maintenance implies that customers have been informed that a maintenance outage will be happening, so that they can actually plan ahead for the scenario. No such notice has been given for any of the outages I've experienced recently. It doesn't matter what time it's happening. The world is a 24/7/365 operation, Branden, and some of us work the graveyard shift and need uninterrupted internet services at 230am. Even if we're not working, there's no excuse for calling an unannounced service outage "planned" when you guys are the only ones who had any warning it was going to happen.

I understand that outages happen sometimes. Technology isn't foolproof, and sometimes things break unexpectedly. however, you cannot possibly expect me to believe that these outages were mistakes or unexpected technical issues, especially when your own website claims it was planned. If it's planned, customers need to be given notice. If nobody's notified that maintenance is going to be happening, that is not planned, because if it was, I should think that a massive corporation built on the patronage of millions of customers would have the common decency to let those customers know about it ahead of time.

This makes three times now that I've lost time and work because of these purportedly "planned" outages that I certainly wasn't given the opportunity to plan for. That's unacceptable, and more than that it's an insult to the people your company owes its entire successful business model to. I hope that the next time this inevitably happens, Xfinity will at least acknowledge that a mistake was made instead …
