I assume that, eventually, they'll get a warrant... what kind of warrant probably depends on what happens between now and whenever they get it. Might just be a Feeney warrant (just allows them to search for and remove a wanted person)...

What Bill has done instead is (probably; I am not a law enforcement expert) given police the grounds they need to get a warrant without a positive ID, because this is not normal behaviour; it screams "A FUGITIVE IS HIDING IN HERE AND DOESN'T WANT YOU TO SEE HIM".

Per a reader's comments on the blog, Bill (or, more likely, one or more of his tenants) has boarded up many (but not all) of the windows and doors at Treasure Island. I am increasingly certain he won't show up for his court date(s) on Thursday.

The intimidation of a justice system participant charge has a maximum sentence of 14 years. Criminal Harassment is max 10 years. Uttering threats - death/bodily harm is max 5. It would be his first criminal conviction, though, so VERY unlikely to get max...

The crown's entire case seems to rest on the email, and the only proof they've offered that he wrote it is linguistic. But with Bill "defending" himself, they may not need more than that. Ashmore's testimony today definitely didn't do Bill any favours, either.
