iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

At the end of the day, no one is ever ever EVER going to see a movie cuz they used AI to make it. It will never be on the poster. It will never be mentioned in the trailer. It will never come up on the press tour. It will never get asses in seats.

Unfortunately I don’t think this is going to stop them in any way but generally speaking if your audience thinks your product sucks donkey balls and your solution is to shove it even further down their throats then you have a serious problem with your business model.

They’re going to great lengths to scrub any and all mention of anything that’s been touched by AI because they know audiences think it fucking sucks.

But with AI, no studio is willing to put that shit on a poster or any marketing material whatsoever. If anything they’re doing the exact opposite.

There were certainly people who got left behind with each leap. Silent actors whose shtick didn’t translate to sound. 2D animators who couldn’t make the jump to 3D etc.

What connects all these jumps is how they marketed the SHIT out of them. Come see a movie with sound! Experience full color! A CGI cartoon!

Even up to more recent memory with the release of the original Toy Story being the first fully 3D animated movie made on a computer. It was totally groundbreaking and cool to see. Something totally new.

Panavision and 70mm weren’t as gigantic leaps as sound and color but it did elevate the experience and it got asses in seats.

Then there was color. Holy shit no more black and white images we can experience stories on the screen with sound and the full spectrum of light? Sign me up.

When sound was first introduced it was totally insane and everyone rushed to the theater to experience it. It was replicating the experience of real life in a totally new way.

But none of this stacks up. Aside from good stories, filmmaking has always been about SPECTACLE. That’s what gets asses in seats.

They just pass the responsibility off to the mythical next generation of filmmakers that are gonna blow us away one day

I keep hearing how AI is the next step in filmmaking the same way that sound or color was but no one can actually tell you how.

My absolute favorite part is how despite building a legacy of metal up your ass and being aggressive as hell that queenie little bitch was still too much of a coward to call out Macklemore by name.

Incredible. All you have to do is keep it to yourself and continue cashing checks but they can’t help it. It’s one Shakespearean comedy after another with these fucking people.

Love the whole James Hetfield thing. First time anyone has even talked about that band in multiple decades and it’s a self own for the ages. No notes.
