Back in January, I spotted a #pitchcallout which aligned perfectly with an #audio #documentary I had in mind. To my utter delight, my pitch was accepted - and 'The Art of Exile' will be featured as part of @kpfa.org's #IWD programming. The #IWD2026 theme #givetogain feels very apt.

Coming to the airwaves soon... I'm both excited and terrified to be putting my audio work out into the world again! These stories need to be heard and it's a huge privilege (and responsibility) to be the one who gets to tell them.

And that right there is why #downloads arent an accurate way to measure #podcast #audiences. Sure, I'll listen to some of the automatically downloaded episodes, but not all of them. And yes, this is a @pocketcasts.com feature I can switch off, but if you're listening on a iPhone, you can't.

Did you know that the first 'voice' sounded like a fart? I didn't, until I heard this episode of @radiolab.bsky.social which takes the listener all the way from our fishy evolutionary beginnings to the modern inventions that aid speech, via beautifully spliced conversation and thoughtful narration.
