I've got a sore throat from shouting this for the last 2 1/2 years!

This regime is awful in so many ways.

Is this because of the new drug-driving regulations where you can be fined for last week's smoke or your hay fever meds?

Lickspittle lackeys of US capitalism. I would go so far as to say some of them are probably moles for US, interests, not just sleepwalking dupes. I'm sure you can think of two or three who would fit that description.

It's really simple now. Are you okay with genocide and annihilation, or not? There's no threat except from the USA in this particular situation. This is all the Trump Admin, right now. This is simple. Threatening to annihilate an entire country is evil. You can't argue otherwise.

There is absolutely no excuse for this in our country. I'm beyond soaked and disgusted.

From experience, cheap cast ironware has a tendency for the enamel to be too thin, and craze and chip over time.

I'm in Southland. Lack of decent growing temperatures/hours this year of sunlight has made my garlic harvest very poor indeed. My soil is pretty good so I'd say it's just been too cold and wet

And the article only briefly mentions the most outrageous part- there’s no plans to hire the appropriate specialists in Wellington for the next 4-6 years

Surely the headline should read "after the Wellington service was deliberately collapsed" Appalling neglect of women's health.

And I'm just finding out thanks to you! What a great system, let's not forget that technology preparedness has not been a huge concern for this government.

There have been various ideas floated about recreating them but any attempt would probably be really, really awful.

I'm not sure, but I think at that time there was an English Act of Parliament in force in Britain that made that illegal there. Marrying your deceased wife's sister, that is.

P.S. check that the clinic will donate the old rather than reselling or discarding. Otherwise direct donation is best. Donees need to find a clinic that is ethical- one big chain was going to charge 10x as much for unneccessary "factory checks and cleaning" as our local clinic.

Sadly, facts will not turn people who have willingly let their brains be co-opted by disinformation. Quiet, non-confrontational conversations with trusted friends will.

About six months ago, my partner got the best gift of his life - our friend's old hearing aids. It cost under $100 to get them reset and refitted at the local hearing clinic. If you have upgraded, you can do no better thing than donate your old aids to a friend or a clinic.

It's almost time for "the holidays are at the wrong time" articles again - prompted by the blistering February days after everyone comes back from a rained-out January holiday. Walls is a Capitalist lackey.

On my regular road commute between Dunedin and North Canterbury, I used to stop over in Palmerston for a coffee, and if I was lucky enough to get there in time, a lamington. One day, ownership had changed, and my enquiry was met with: "The lamington is dead". One regular customer lost for ever.

It's deeply frustrating that we lost a government that was elevating society in general by voting in this bunch of self-aggrandising, economy-wrecking, and obviously cynical liars.

It's not looking good at the moment, but New Cat's "mummy" comes to visit overnight sometimes to cheer her up. Baguette (the whole litter had French bread names) has learned to open her window and escape at will, so at least she has some freedom.

Our original cat is unable to understand why we need an extra cat. Unfortunately her owners' marriage blew up and neither spouse could keep her, but rehoming an adult cat in the spring is very difficult so here she stays, holed up in the spare room for her own safety.

I have an old bath towel in the laundry, because the partner is a mechanic and inveterate tinkerer who can make a small towel disgusting in no time, plus that's where our toilet is and it's also garden-adjacent.

We have acquired an extra female cat. They spend hours every day in standoffs attempting to stare each other out.

Spending a few months in Melbourne a couple of decades ago opened my eyes to how integrated public transport there made it a fantastic city to live in or near. Is it raining, cold? Take a tram. Have further to go? Stroll to the nearest station and take a train. Aotearoa sucks.

Learn to love the mute button - the icon wore off ours years ago. My Dad had a volume button on a long cord wired into his CRT TV back in the 1980s, just for this purpose.

It makes no difference to me because I've stopped watching broadcast TV, and if I'm streaming content from NZ I just ignore the ads. But what a crock of doodoo anyway - if you impoverish society no amount of advertising is going to prompt a sales goldmine.

This is a great example of how genAI steals from us all on multiple levels. It's stolen a promotional spot for real books and authors, it's stolen a job from an actual journalist who could have compiled this, it's stolen an opportunity for parents to be recommended good NZ books for their kids

Tonight I'll be reading my tattered and scribbled copy of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" to my children and grandchildren for the 46th time. From one small child my audience has expanded to 12+. The riotous chat after-party is the best part - altogether best idea I ever had.
