Impressed by the 253 exhibition at #TacomaPublicLibrary. So many incredible art works and artists who are new to me, and happy to see the cool @hilltopartists.bsky.social Pizza sculpture collab with Eriko Kobayashi Happy #TacomaArtsMonth, all!

Four different artworks from the 253 Exhibition on display at the Tacoma Public Library, with a "Hilltop" pizza sculpture in the foreground. This sculpture is a collaboration between the youth arts organization Hilltop Artists and artist Eriko Kobayashi.

If they were interested in sustaining a business/caring for their workforce, they'd shut down & examine how they became a dangerous fleet shuttling feces, dead animals, & vomit around major cities. But they're not. Reminds me of the shocking/not surpising info from Karen Hao in Empire of AI.

"the share of pornographic images on the internet was so large that reomving them sharing the training dataset enough to notably degrade the model's performance. In particular, it made the model worse at generating faces of women and people of color due to the same discover that Deboarh Raji made as a Clarifai intern: a signifiacne share of the online content depicting both groups is sexually explicit. For the same reasons, the researchers left in some other kinds of distrurbing images. Karen Hao, Empire of AI: Inside the Reckless Race for Total Domination

"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - Frank Herbert, Dune
